I'd hate to think of any of these lads leaving, and I can't see why they'd want to. The players seem to be on the same wavelength as us fans and I'd be gutted to lose the likes of Ballard, Stewart, 09, Roberts, Clarke... I could go on.
If the club is going in the direction, and the squad morale is good then it makes life a lot easier to bring in players and keep them. It is inevitable that perhaps we will lose some along the way that we don’t want to, but I am very confident that management at the club will bring in the right players to replace them. They’ve already bought in pretty much every player we have now in the squad and we love them.
Wonder if that could be an idea for a thread "Wakey's watering holes" Or perhaps an addition to the RTB match thread Food, or drink, for thought
I’ve just had a phone call off my nephew offering good cash for my away ticket if we get Luton in the play-offs Settle down lad…
This match will make a good pub quiz question ... ... 'Who were QPR's opponents who scored three goals and had players blatantly fouled in the build up to each goal, yet no one was booked?'
Last couple of games we have been kicked up a height. Maybe teams see that as the way too stop us. Massive fail. Still wrong no punishment for blatant cynical fouls.
He does. When he messages me with recommendations, I book as they never disapoint. 5 or 6 times this season he's put me on to a good place. He is a smashing bloke.
He might just mean this weekend. A win takes us to 51 points. 50 is often the survival amount in this league. (I don't really mean this by the way )
“I think credit goes to a lot of the senior players and Amad, players that just keep raising the standard. I think everyone is just looking to improve off one another, and you can see that in the team’s performance.” O’Nien led the celebrations in front of more than 2,500 travelling supporters after Sunderland triumphed on Tuesday night, and the fans’ favourite was happy to have helped provide the red-and-white army with a Valentine’s Day to remember. “We really enjoyed the evening, from back to front the subs that came on, it was just a top, top night,” he said. “The fans, everything, it was a really, really good evening. “We got the goal, were solid defensively and when we needed Patta (Anthony Patterson), he delivers as always - the postman in the goal." https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...-big-occasion-experience-squad-myth/?ref=ebls
I totally agree I would not want to lose any of them its just we have been lead to believe we must be self funding and if some of these players carry on with the same form they will be worth a lot of money and we could see instant large profits with quite a few of them. I have been saying for a while that Patterson will be on par or better than Pickford in a few years and at the rate he is improving the money could be on the table very soon. Some of the silly money for bang average players being thrown around in the premier league could easily see us rake in £50 million for Patterson, Ballard, Roberts for example. If we were to reinvest wisely it would make us even stronger. Like I said though I would rather hang onto them and hopefully see them flourish in the premier league with us.
This I feel is the flaw in this system, if these lads take us up surely we are self funded. We could easily bring in 10 times the money we earn now and by selling them we will probably be relegated again?
In order to be better prepared for the premier league I think its inevitable that players will be sold on then the money reinvested. Wage structure would probably be our biggest issue should we have bids on the table for players. Lower end premier league clubs could pay big wages which we couldnt compete with at the moment. Its a hard one but we are only 2 years in and the progress has been quick and very impressive, I trust KLD to do what is best for the club.
