So we've just played the bottom club and now we have the 4th from bottom. This time though away from home on a Tuesday evening. What do you reckon? Obviously we CAN win this one but do you reckon we will.............nobody will be watching us though they will all have eyes on "the other game". COYG
Please keep up BC. The other game you have predicted for ON THE SAME NIGHT. In other words can Sheffield Wednesday STOP Barnsley winning again....AND BECOME MORE OF A DANGER THAN IPSWICH FOR SECOND PLACE. NOW GET A GRIP BC ON THE IMPORTANT THINGS OF LIFE. Sorry if I'm SHOUTING but sometimes it's necessary.
Stephen Schumacher talked about "doing something different" for away games after the defeat at Barnsley. Today, he predicts Accrington will press high: he doesn't have Sam Cosgrove, or at least wasn't on the bench on Saturday, so that rules out going long to the Big Man. Perhaps Ennis as a No 9 - he's difficult to knock off the ball for a smaller guy and joins up play well - so a sort of mini-target man, with Hardie running in behind him? Whatever it is, I have faith he'll come up with something new and by definition, Accrington can't predict what that'll be, so I'm going for a win.
Update: please log in to view this image Sam Cosgrove is "50-50" to be available for Accrington. Tyreik Wright and Connor Grant are available. Good news. Joe Edwards came off on Saturday due to a "tight hamstring" and must be doubtful. Not so good news.
Don't worry BC I got it. Disguising a picture of a bloody plane with chat about who is available or not tomorrow is not fooling anyone notdistant.
Stealth is the new thing. please log in to view this image Has the radar return of a grain of sand, but the Russians have got wise, grains of sand don't do Mach 2 at 50,000ft.
Accrington is turning into the new FGR thread......you just can't stop. Okay if that's how you want it. I was twice at RAF Cardington just outside Bedford.....first as a 12 yr old when my dad was stationed there as the the Station swoman.....that is as the Station Warrant Officer......the senior non-commissioned Officer....in charge of the parade ground and all the training that took place on it for all ranks even officers. This gave me as a kid a bit of freedom around the camp......the big drawing point at Cardington was the two giant hangers that housed the R100/101 airships of the 1929/30's....they were massive you could play a full scale football match in them......there was an airship around in my day....much smaller...I think it was called the Bournemouth and was used more to do with weather reports. They also practised parachute jumping from up in the roof. Years later I had to report to Cardington when I did my national service to be kitted out......I can remember this Chief Warrant Officer looking me up whilst I was there.....a mate of my fathers.....who was a balloon specialist.....this was the only posting he could do in the RAF in 1960 so he stayed there all his service life. The other lads in the billett wanted to know why this WO wanted to talk to me....I never let on that my father had been a SWO.....especially when I did my basic training at RAF Bridgnorth.....didn't want the nasty drill Corporals to find that out....life was miserable enough without having them on my back.
Hurting teams can be a problem...lets hope they don't play beyond their ability tonight.....we need the 3pts without shedding too much blood.
.................................................................................Burton ...........................Wilson..........................................Bolton........................................Gillesphey .......Earley..............................Houghton...................................Butcher............................Mumba .................................................Azaz...............................................Mayor .................................................................................Hardie Subs Parkes, Scarr, Grant, C Wright, Matete, T Wright, Ennis.
Poor weather, deteriorating pitch, scruffy game and a scruffy goal which was seriously deflected own goal. But in the lead and 3 points are for the taking.
Accrington red card. Watching stats you could almost see it coming without seeing it if you know what I mean.
2 - 0 looking ok now but not going to take anything for granted (Grant scored) See what I did there.........
