That was no classic for sure and not one of our better performances but Accrington’s backs are against the wall. They supplied plenty of effort but little class.

We’ve certainly done well to avoid taking a single card in a physical encounter. Full marks to the ref for booking Sangare for a wild challenge early on that actually made little contact. The intent was there and the consequences could have been severe. Full marks too for not hesitating to teach for the red when the same guy did the same thing in the second half.

We survived a torrid 15 minutes in the second half with stout defending. Finn Azaz missed a close range header when it was easier to score, Callum Wright miscued a golden chance and Ryan Hardie hit BOTH posts with a single shot. It could have been 5.

I’m giving Man Of The Match to Callum Burton. He played well but didn’t do anything exceptional. He’s just become a dad and perhaps that inspired him, but for the first time today, he looked as if HE thought he deserved to be out there.

Tough luck for James Bolton. He was magnificent on Saturday. He didn’t go down in a heap: it looked as though he felt something, told the bench and the went down when the substitute was ready. So hopefully not bad….

Barnsley won so we’re top of the league again!

My son watched it and gave MOM to Burton as well so must be true. Result paramount and performance secondary. I would take these results for the rest of the season and Argyle be totally crap. If Barnsley keep winning who is to say that Sheff Wed won't continue to wobble........ If you listen to the pack behind us we are under so much pressure and are sure to crack. Really well if we are going to from their perspective then we had better start cracking soon then. Ipswich now have to perform v Derby next. Pressure Mr McKenna?
