I dont like the little islander thing either mate. I dont like the so called special relationship with America either. They will drop us like a stone, probably already done so. We need to be confident in our strengths, bolster our weaknesses through diplomacy, and enjoy being an inclusive people. I think we have lost our sense of who we are over the last 20 years.
It's like the Americans "World Series" baseball. Important to nobody else but it is in their own insular minds.
Perfect summary of the Blair government in my opinion, or maybe just Blair judging by recent info from ex cabinet members.
My heart sank when Boris Johnson boasted about returning to imperial measurements, protecting our borders and looking for trade deals with nations around the world ... ... which sounds too much like a return to the days of Empire.
Imperial measurements and passport colours are daft. We deserve better leaders, that will only come with radical overhaul, in my opinion.
Hamza Yusuf appointed SNP Leader after a campaign in which all three candidates could have used the slogan 'hold my beer'.
Just watching on the news, Ash Regan has a face like a smacked arse even before the result was announced
Louis Mountbatten would wonder wtf was going on in the U.K and couldn't comprehend what's happening ... ... a man involved in the partition of India and Pakistan would be shaking his head at the prospect of an Indian and a Pakistani presiding over the possible partition of Great Britain Two million died in 1947, we could get away with half a dozen this time.
A Downing Street spokesmen denied suggestions Ms Braverman was a "right-wing sock puppet" for Tory rebels who wanted ministers to be able to ignore initial rulings by judges at Strasbourg. "Both the prime minister and the home secretary have been clear that this bill will comply with international law and stop the boats," the spokesman said. So, Braverman isn't a sock puppet and Sunak will stop the boats ... ... which of these is true, answers on a postcard please.
Day one of Sunak's war on antisocial behaviour. A 14-year-old boy caught towing a caravan down the M4 has been ordered to pay just £20 by a court. The boy admitted charges of obstructing police and driving without a licence or insurance when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court last week. He was given a four-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £20 surcharge. No order for costs was made due to lack of means. That'll teach'em Rishi
I don't think that kind of overhaul is likely now. It would take the electorate voting for the right people instead of the right rosette colour, or voting to remove people who haven't done a good job even if they're on your side, and that's just not going to happen.
Just think we could still be in the EU where the yellow jackets are going to come back in force again and having our towns and cities burnt down. Mind the down side is just as bad I couldn’t get any Aubergines 6 weeks ago.
I'm pleased we don't have a head of state trying to force his will via decree because he knows he'll lose the vote in parliament. Still, the Quinoa must flow.
