I agree 100% Tees, if there is anything in this story the club should hang their heads in shame

Aye why not and while we are at it can we go back to signing mercenary bastards who come cause we pay more than those teams around us, flirt with relegation season after season and be literally a laughing stock in the footballing world as we are known as a holiday club where players get to put in minimum effort week after week!

it seems like sensible planning to me, as long as TM has been kept in the loop. who knows what the roadmap looks like, but they seem to be doing ok this season, so I assume we have the future plan in place. I'd like to think we'd keep TM involved in some capacity, he's been a fantastic aquisition in my book.

Here's my 2 pennies. No one knows what the terms were between both parties when Mowbray took over. Perhaps he didn't want anything long term, perhaps he said I'd do one season season and in all fairness, the club had to put out a longer term contact announcement after the whole rolling contract ****e with Niel, something the club took pelters for from some fans.
I don't believe in a million years the club would actively go looking to replace Mowbray publicly on the cusp of playoffs if Mobray wasn't priv to the situation.
I don't think the club needs to hang heads in shame. They'll he more too it. There's my 2 gold coins.

I love Big Sam but that ship has well and truly sailed hopefully! Mowbray seems a perfect fit so no need rock the boat unless he doesn't want to stay here, i've not seen or heard anything that would suggest that.

On the other hand there is no danger in looking forward, maybe he has been approached to be a potential successor whenever that may be. Or more than likely just journalist bollocks.

If it is true, probably the most stupid announcement I’ve heard since I started supporting the club, that’s the reason I’m convinced it’s bullshit.

Nah not really, he seems the type of manager we would go for though. Plays good football and his teams press well, the article shared earlier suggests he likes to tweet formation and line ups depending on who he's against - love managers that are capable of that.

I think the only way he comes in next season is if TM wants to step down or do a different role at the club

Wouldn't call it an announcement. Just a journalist claiming inside info.

I am not really buying this. Neither the fact we are looking for a new head coach for next season, nor that this fella would be on our shortlist.

Lets say Mowbray only wanted do a year, which I cant see the logic for personally, I reckon he has thoroughly enjoyed this season. As a coach all you ever want is lads who listen and a freedom to coach your way. He has that, he has won everyone over, why would he not want to stay. He isnt an old fella yet, in fact he looks fit as a lop to me. He is working on his doorstep and he is at a club that seems to have the same ethos as he does. If the club only wanted a year becauss they wanted time to get the next De Zerbi lined up, they would be barmy to stick with that plan after what Mowbray has achieved, and the manner in which he has done it.

I doubt this fella is on any shortlist. I could possibly see it if Mowbray had done an ok job and we were mid-table. Now though we have seen what this group can achieve with half a side out. We have seen the style of play Mowbray can dish up. If someone were to follow Mowbray next season it would need someine with a better track record and arguably style of play than this lad. It could be a case of after the lord mayors show for whoever is next. Might sound stupid to suggest this but for me if Mowbray does decide to step away for some reason we are going to need a real upgrade on him, and that isnt a bright young thing from Italy, because he has worked with De Zerbi. Mowbray has probably forgotten more about coaching and management. We would be in the territory of needing a Potter or a Stephan, or even a Villas-Boas (tin hat, but get past his chelsea/spurs days, and look at the porto / marseille stuff, ooh Marseille, do we have any other marseille links?).

Anyway, all I want is promotion and Mowbray taking these young lads all guns blazing into the prem

Don't disagree about Mowbray, but do you really not think this bloke would be on our shortlist? Isn't he exactly what our recruitment team are looking for? Young, talented (allegedly), cheap. Sounds exactly like the sort of person we're after these days, the recruitment philosophy extends beyond just players.

    How do you know this?
Why, at a time when everyone is enjoying the magic carpet ride, is it necessary to have a dig at the club?

Bloody hell man settle down, it wasn't a dig at the club at all. I mean as he's a younger less experienced manager he represents better value for money than some of the plodders out there come asking for a king's ransom. And how in the hell is the club getting a good deal a bad thing anyway? I would consider Dennis Cirkin and Ross Stewart to be cheap, doesn't mean they're not ****ing class at football

A year ago yes, probably mate. Mowbray has raised expectations sky high. If someone comes in this summer massive act to follow. Going to need some serious nous to rely on for me, man management as much as coaching. If Mowbray stays and we went backwards, different profile of coach needed and this fella may fit.
