Another missed opportunity against Manchester United with Mitro having his penalty saved again. But overall the season has been one of progression and a two-fingered salute to all the experts that said we were nailed on to be relegated.

Good manager, good side with some astute buys. No way you were getting anywhere near relegation.

Palhinha is quality but having the record number of yellow cards in a season in the PL suggests he needs someone guiding him in training and develop his game a bit.

Solomon looked alright in that purple patch he had midseason. Hopefully he'll develop more under Silva.

Perreira looks a much better player at Fulham than he ever did in the limited appearances he had for us.

Robinson is raw. Lots of pace, brings the ball forward well on the left but his decision making lets him down.

Willian a decent season, but I think he'll drop off next season so need a replacement of his quality.

Palhinha is like Casemiro, you take that aggression away from him and you lose half the player.
Palhinha's record stands out in his clean tackling above everyone else https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/total_tackle
Solomon will probably not sign for Fulham from Shaktar Donetsk as rumours are Tottenham are in for him and Silva has benched him for most of our final games, he's a bit of a selfish player at times.
Pereira has progressed under Silva, accurate crosses and passes as well as defending from the front, he puts in a shift.
Robinson is a frustrating player, lots of speed, works well with Ream, but not consistent in his defending or crossing. It's rumoured the Milan clubs are in for him, along with Tosin.
Think we'll get another season out of Willian if he signs a new contract, class is permanent.

Has been a good season. Our signings have been good, all settling in well. I do hope we keep Willian, he is pure class. Palhinha also.

I'm not sure what to make of a Fred signing if rumours are correct. We have a great squad which seem to all get on well. Anyway, I look forward to a couple of good additions to strengthen us further. So pleased we finished above Chelsea.

Off to a bit of daylight robbery! Leno amazing and a well worked goal. Looking good for the future especially when we are back to full strength and the newbies are settled in.

Think we rode our luck in this game. Glad the season is back, I've missed it. We certainly need some more signings though.

Good to get the 3 points as 3 difficult games coming up and we needed some points on the board before the international break in September.

The draw in the League Cup has got us at home to Tottenham on 29th August. Another difficult game.

Went yesterday to the Arsenal game not expecting too much so very pleased to see how well we did. After them gifting us the first goal our organisation in defence was excellent. For all Arsenals possession and attack I relaxed as nothing seemed to be going right for them. We could have even nicked the win in the end with Traore just falling short.

I think it shows the team has good spirit. A proper striker and options on the bench would help enormously. As we go through the season we going to need more.

Another thing that suprised me was the atmosphere at the Emirates was actually quite good. I've always remembered a library vibe but to be fair it has improved but I did have to laugh at their ultra section which as our fans sang "are you Palace in disguise"

Superb result at Arsenal, unexpected, but the Team and Marco did well, but we do have to watch our disciplinary record.

Well...City away, 2nd goal...another VAR controversy that cost us.
I just find it unbelievable what the Officials are seeing to give the goal, that every other person watching isn't.
So far that's the Brentford Ream sending off & penalty for an air shot.
The Bassey booking for time wasting at the kick while they ignore the rule that opposition players have to be outside the area while a kick is taken.
The Bassey injury where VAR looked for a penalty to Arsenal while ignoring Saka pulling Bassey down to cause the shoulder injury.
The City 2nd goal where Officials deem the player offside not interfering or influencing the goal being scored. Yet there is a rule to say any interfering incident is to be looked at on the monitor by the on field Referee for a decision.

It appears to me, that since the Man U semi-final, we are not getting a fair hearing, poor or mostly incorrect referee decisions and yellow cards being given out like confetti.

Next up Luton Town at the Cottage, following the international break, and the transfer season closure.
On a positive note, both Harrison and Joao have put pen to paper and signed new contracts. Whether we can keep Joao any longer than January, it will need to be seen, but we can hope.
I think Luton will come and try to be compact and sit firm in defence, our new looking forward approach will be tested hard, I don't see a 7-0 win here. Our new signing has given us grater strength in depth, and mostly good enough to challenge the current starters, we will see how the absence of Mitro will pan out, hopefully this is resolved.
Having had a difficult start, 2 top sides away, several poor referring decisions, we have 4pts, and with a fair wind we could have 7pts come on Saturday, which would be pretty good.

Ground out a win and a welcome 3 points in an unspectacular game that Luton didn't take their chances and Vinicius did.
Nice touch with the scarves for the Chairman Mo tribute.
There were a few of our players off the pace and at times it was Parker Ball across the back 4 and in front of the Luton's 10 man defence, needed someone to break the lines.
Wilson, Pereira and Raul never really sparked, but Castagne had a solid debut at left back and Iwobi came on as sub for 30 mins and looked industrious.

We were too slow in the build up against Luton and with so many men behind the ball we found it difficult to break through. We had just one chance and fortunately took it. Palace will be a different game. Last year it all went in our favour, would be great to pick up a point there.

The competition between players has stepped up a mark, or two, this season, which is very positive.
I'm wondering if Alex and Carlos get a start today, their physical strength could be very useful against Palace.

Chelsea game has to be our worst performance of the season.
Centre backs were woeful for both goals and the attack had no penetration.
Neither of our forwards seemed to be able to anticipate and aren't a threat to the opposition with their movement
Palhinha was over run in midfield and had a poor game overall.
Subs Iwobi and Lukic seemed to be more creative.
Need to get our goal difference back min to the positive quickly (at present -7)

Indeed, and could/should have scored more.
We need a CF come January.

A repeat of last season where Mbabu had to come on for Robinson and was out of his depth on the left side.
I knew before the game Bassey was going to be our weakness on the Right, a position he just can not play successfully. Needs to be on the left if anywhere.
Again we failed to take the chances up front

The good news is that Marco Silva has finally signed a 3 year contract, which hopefully give us a boost, and the stability to sign some players in the January window.
