Well as season that began full of hope and with the clear expectancy of a mid table finish has resulted in relegation. In addition to that the club is now in complete disarray as well. Owners want out. Players want out. No manager. No DOF. How very Leeds of us.
Reading my post above as an outsider and with no knowledge of Leeds you'd probably be thinking there's a club that's likely to fall further. Plenty of others have suffered a double relegation after falling out of the PL and as it stands we shouldn't consider ourselves any better than any of those that have gone before. Serious times for the club.
I was having issues getting the image to post, so thought I would use a place holder whilst I sorted it
As things stand double relegation very possible as you’ve said. Even if we get players manager before Season kicks off. Two games a week and you can be well off the pace by October as they won’t realistically have enough time do formulate a plan before season kicks off. Two games a week and you can be well off the pace by October. As we discussed on Sunday Jammy there’s a lot wring we weren’t even aware of
I didn't predict anything on here, however feared relegation because- Bielsa>Marsch 2 best players sold Lot of unknowns brought in I didn't think Marsch did great end of last season, beat Norwich (20th), Watford (19th), Wolves (10 men) and Brentford (9 men). Had no confidence he'd get the pts over a full season. However, Marsch won me around this season and think he would have kept us up. I can see why they made the change though because of negative fan reaction. Leicester (a), Fulham (h), Bournemouth (h) 3-1 down and then finally Forest (a).
Good points LDS… marsch was fire fighting last year… this year he tried to play his ‘brand’ of football. We were competitive but kept shooting our selves in the foot. And ultimately we were relegated by the best fans in the world… if we say so ourselves.
Title changed to reflect the start date for next season. With roughly 2 months to get our act together it's still way too early to predict anything where Leeds are concerned. However it promises to be an ultra competitive scramble for the two automatic promotion places with plethora of clubs looking capable of challenging. Also with Ipswich and Sheff Wed coming up from L1 it promises to be a entertaining League all round. Promotion favs have to be from; Leicester Southampton Leeds Boro Sunderland West Brom Have I missed any of the main contenders ?
Watford and Norwich. In the past 2 seasons we've seen Bournemouth and Sheff Utd win promotion at the second time of asking. Both were losing playoff semi finalists the previous season so suggests Watford/Norwich have a bit more to do.
Not setting any deadline for promotion here. Important issue for me is when or if we next go back to the pl, we have a proper structure in place to progress in it rather than survive. We need to aspire to be a Brighton in next decade. I'll bet their fans are having a right good summer. For far too long, most decisions made at our club have smelt of stop gaps or hopeful punts. It needs to end now
Some might say we had the perfect struture in place last time we were promoted. In fact it was so good it allowed us to invest over £100 million in the squad, which was level of investment that left most of us gobsmacked by the way. Solid owner, ably backed by partners willing to invest further. Dof with excellent contacts worldwide. Highly rated coach/manager CEO with good experience of stadium building/expansion. Are you saying next time you want better than that ?
