If you had millions/ billions of pounds burning a hole in your pocket, wouldn’t you do something like buy into a football club or something just as wasteful ? I mean if it comes good eventually, it must be a total buzz when you get the adulation. Once you have that much money it must become meaningless. I’d spend my fortune on high class prostitutes, cocaine and vodka……but then I might waste some as well.
Yep. As far as I'm aware, they're not billionaire rich either, now that Mittal basically owns nothing. So surely can't go on forever? But as Luton and Cov have shown us, we don't need a £25m wage budget to be competitive in this division and that's surely what the owners have to start pushing.
Presumably that’s why they are doing it. I might be tempted but I hope I wouldn’t because you create unsustainable organisations - when you piss off the whole thing collapses. And people like you and me, who have invested a lifetime in this bollocks, are the ones who end up hating the bloke who wants to be adored. I’m not sure you can buy the adulation anyway. Does the country that owns Citeh get adored by the Mancs? Perhaps Abramovitch, not sure. Certainly not the Glazers.
You know you would Maybe a local side or if the money was there I’d be aiming higher. As a fan it would be the ultimate high…..as long as it came good of course
The new deal the EFL have made with Sky increasing revenue to the EFL by 50% from the season 24/25 may help us a bit.
I know he’s not one of “ours” anymore, but seeing a young lad living his dream, reaching the level that he surely deserves AND still staying so humble is a joy to watch. I wish him every success
