It's an idiotic comment but no one should be fired for having an opinion.

The guy seems to think racism is ok. He should be fired in fact he should resign and apologise on national TV for all the things he has said that are wrong.

He should be fined for being incompetent and out of touch though, which we knew long before today's comments.

Freedom of speech. <ok> No matter how wrong you are you shouldn't be fired for any opinion. He should resign from outside pressure maybe, everyone knows he is a moron anyway.

Of course they should. Freedom of speech does not entitle you as the head of footballs governing body to write off racism as something that can be resolved with a handshake.

If I were in his position, and my opinion was that all non white and non straight players should be burnt at the stake, and I expressed such a view in public, you wouldn't think I should be sacked?

So if Suarez is found guilty of racism, you think he shouldn't be punished?

Edit: Ignore me, I read that wrong.

No you shouldn't just be fired you're allowed an opinion and no matter how idiotic it shouldn't be banned or not allowed. His position should just be made untenable and if he had any honor he would resign. <ok>

Why should he, freedom of speech etc etc. I'm sorry, but there are limits, and Blatter has breached them regularly. He's never going to resign.

It's a tactless comment and I would be fired for such comments at work if anyone was offended.

No there's not. You are essentially sacking a man because his opinion differs from yours. It's like on here, if you dropped the N bomb I wouldn't report you to Mick or Syd bit I would think a hell of a lot less of you, and try to avoid talking to you.
