But what we have done away shows the potential to be even better than where we are. The home form gets fans through the doors if they are entertained they come back for more, and success breeds success.
I think most people who go to football matches want their team to win a boring match rather than lose an entertaining match
We were the better team today, if one of those late chances goes in we’re purring about a great performance. This team under Liam is on the edge of being great, the foundations are there, the squad is talented, but I feel like we’re still waiting for it all to click, when (or if) it does we’ll give some teams a hammering. 20k again there today, and for me football is fun again, anything else is a bonus.
I thought it was a good game today. I said before the game I'd be disappointed if we didn't win as these are the games you should be doing if you want to go up, and I do stand by that. However, that said, I thought both teams played well and I thought some of our passing was really good. We just need that extra bit up top. Their goalkeeper kept them in at at the end.
I was going to say that, but then I thought about it, and actually it only became ‘one of those games’ in injury time. Which really just isn’t good enough. We have to start playing with a bit more intensity and tempo earlier on, it was ploddingly slow for so much of the game and Plymouth weren’t really troubling us either. Our snail paced play was causing ourselves more problems than they posed of their own accord.
Dear Rosie, We all like you and you’re the most positive person I’ve ever seen but.......this passing about a dozen times at the back has never and will never get a team promoted from this league. We’re doing well but it could be much better with the team we have. I can’t believe the team buy into this as it’s putting us under so much pressure. Please play to our strengths as we have a great squad.
I was disappointed today to see that Rosie had made only one change, which was enforced anyway. I think he needs to start tweaking the system/personnel between home and away games because it’s clear that although it’s serving us so well on the road it’s not allowing us to take control of games at home.
I don’t think Rosenior did anything wrong regarding his team selection or his tactics today. We dominated possession, had enough chances to win the game imo and we looked the better team. We didn’t play brilliantly but we weren’t **** either. A mix of poor finishing and poor individual performances, especially in the first half, let us down. Vinagre, Christie and Traoré in particular were way off it first half.
I thought it was a great second half, it’s still taking us too long to get going, but we did in the end and normally one of those chances would be put away and everyone would have gone home happy.
I completely agree on still taking to long to get going, it's clear as day and it's a tad concerning that Rosie hasn't addressed it yet. But you saying normally one of those chances goes just can't be right, because if it was we wouldn't be drawing as many games at home. If we want to compete with the top 6 we just can't draw this many games and or wait until the final quarter of a game to really put their keeper under pressure. It's unbelievably frustrating because we are so close to being a real challenger in this league. But for Rosie and ultimately us to be successful he needs to learn how to create a team/system/set up to win games at home. He's got the away set up nailed on, but he needs to figure things out at home, if he does the sky's the limit.
Thought we were the better side however they could have gone two up when they hit the post. We play some nice football but sometimes not at a quick enough tempo. How we didn’t score in injury time, their keeper was outstanding. Overall though we have improved so much but are still in the process of building a very decent side. Corners are a waste of time and I can’t remember the last time we scored from one, that’s probably down to lack of height. Another point, but that’s four home games on the trot which isn’t good enough. Still in a very decent position though but we definitely need to learn how to turn these home draws into wins.
Before kick off I thought it would be a tough game against a hard working decent team. At full time I'm very frustrated to only draw with a hard working but technically poor team. We need to be winning against teams as limited as them.
when Argyle had the "antidote" to our playing out from the back early on in the first half we should be able to switch tactics. It was awful and it could easily have been 0-3 at half time. Mind you we were better them second half and how we didn't score in the last ten minutes. That lad philogene is an unpolished diamond. Yes he made mistakes but with the right application, attitude and experience the sky is the limit. Vinagre needs to learn to pass when he's done all the hard work before he loses the ball.
