Good to see players having a go from outside the box but they really need to learn how to do it better. Philogene, Traore, Slater and Connolly all had decent chances which all went miles high or wide.

Hull manager Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside:

"Frustrated not to win the game but in terms of our performance, our domination and our control I couldn't be happier.

"We had so many chances towards the end of the game because Plymouth expended so much energy chasing us in the first half.

"I was delighted how we responded when Plymouth's first shot ended up in the back of our net - it was like attack vs defence in the second half. They had to dig in, and on another day we score three, four, five goals.

"But for a world-class save from their goalkeeper we win 2-1."

That was incredibly frustrating, wasn't it. We should have won that, and with relative ease. For all Philogene's trickery his end product is still lacking. Delap still has a long way to go if he wants to feature for Man City (Harry Kane at Norwich, perhaps?). I don't think it helps him being played wide, Connolly had to keep telling him where he's meant to be, generally after Connolly had to track back for him.

Seri's probably the most frustrating for me. The difference between him and Morton is stark, whilst Morton always looks for a forward pass, and can generally get himself into decent positions to do so, Seri's so keen on playing sideways or backwards. Surely something he's been told to do? The ****ing about in the first half was as if we wanted them to score. Similarly there were a number of occasions in the second half where we'd progress into their 18 yard box and no bugger wanted to pull the trigger. To focused on retaining possession, perhaps? All goes back to Tan's comment about being brave, IMO.

Sure, we can all say "on another day", but how many other days do we need? I don't think there's anything wrong with pushing your team to do better. We should have won that, no question about it.

    Home Matches 15
    Wins 4
    Draws 9
    Losses 2

    For 17 (4 against Massive)
    Against 13

By LR reckoning we could have scored 45 in those matches...

Take your Rosie tinted glasses off ~ having 70% of the play in your own half is not dominating.

Plymouth manager Steven Schumacher told BBC Radio Devon:

"I don't think Hull City have lost here in the last 18 appearances, one of our analysts told me, so we expected a tough game, and that's exactly what we got.

"Hull started really well but once we settled down after ten or 15 minutes I thought we looked good and composed, caused them a few problems, scored a goal at a good time for us and almost got a second.

"If that had gone in we could have been more in control of the whole game but to concede right before half time was a bit of a blow, from a mistake by us.

"In the last five minutes we had to put our bodies on the line and work so hard to get what was probably a deserved point."

What a contrast between the two halves. First half I thought we were ponderous and lacklustre. Second half we looked like world beaters and only worldie saves by their keeper kept us out. By the end we deserved to win so I can understand LR’s reaction to the boos etc. My one beef is I think Delap should always start unless he’s knackered. He’s such a powerhouse. Can’t understand why he’s been benched.

First half frustrating and not enough forward play, second half seemed to come out and be less obsessive with passing back, through the keeper and Seri everytime, thought the substitutes allowed us to be more direct as an option which nearly payed off

Absolutely. Why’s there so much negativity? If we win every away game and draw every home game we should be there or thereabouts. First half was dire, but the second half was thoroughly entertaining and we played some great football.

Public health warning...Watching City can shorten your life by increasing your blood pressure.
Frustrating is more like it..Loads of possession 77% I'd guess...More corners than you could shake a stick at, but never looked like scoring from one....Loads of half chances...Dominant for most of the game. With due respect to Plymouth they were marginally better than Wednesday. If we can't put them to bed (at home) ..Forget automatic (never seriously, considered) or even the playoffs.
Plus the atmosphere today was ****e...10 to 3 and there was hardly any noise. Anyone would think we're in the bottom six...I could go on, but Rant over..

There's a real theme in the rhythm of our home games and it feels bizarre to me.
    - 0-15 We're on top.
    - 15-45 Away team find their way into the game and cause problems.
    - 45-80 We dominate possession, often without looking like scoring.
80-90+ We turn the screw and could score anywhere between 0 and 5.

Rosie needs to get the home form sorted out ASAP...If he is relying on the away form to keep us in top 6, then he's gonna get shafted.

Spot on. People are so impatient. We aren't quite there but this is the best team since we last went up.
