Steve Bruce has appealed for calm from Sunderland fans, but accepts his side must beat Wigan at home next week. Sunderland have yet to record a victory at the Stadium of Light this season and Mark Schwarzer and the woodwork denied them win over Fulham, who also had their chances to settle an uninspired match. There were the first muted shouts of `Bruce Outâ as Sunderland struggled against a side who have won only once in six games on their travels. The heat is on: Steve Bruce is facing unrest from sections of the Sunderland fans But with Wigan and Blackburn next on Wearside, in between a visit to Wolves, the unrest could grow. Bruce said: `Weâll just have to make sure we beat Wigan or try our best to beat Wigan and move on. 'I think the seasonâs just about to start. I know weâve played 12 games but weâve got something like 10/ 12 games in the next seven weeks, which will define our season. 'We hope that we can still improve. I still think there have been improvements â certainly defensively weâre far, far better than weâve ever been. Weâve just got to find that little bit up front that makes the difference Think the penny has finally dropped with bacon nose, **** the 4-6-0 and 4-5-1 and get back to 4-4-2, go for the win instead of playing for the draw as a draw or loss will be curtains.
Brucie will make Wigan sound like Brazil come Saturday. Wrong SB they are where they are because they are effing sh*te. ffs praise your own team, give them some confidence AND tell the fans WE WILL WIN this Saturday.
It will be total inconsistancy for the next 3 games you can count on that, Wigan - I think we will win this but only just 1-0 Wolves - Typical Sunderland we will follow up a win with a defeat Blackburn - and finally cap it off with a nice home draw to leave even more questions instead of answers
His line of excuses shows no signs of lessening.... Never mind Steve, you've only had the job for 2 and 1/2 years. We should all be a bit more patient with you!
