So yet another home win amd going into December we find ourselves still top and four wins clear of 7th place! Adkins has taken the squad to new heights and I believe there is still more to come. When you see what is happening down the road we should all just rejoice in our current position and cheer the lads all the way into the Premiership.

Aren't most people totally loving it? Magnificent football, Golden Times

Though...bizarrely, I've developed a deep seated occasional disliking for West Ham?? A debt ridden media darling's club that gets more credit and respect than it deserves.

The people moaning at Guly need to get a grip, without him we wouldn't be the same team.

Straight out of the Paul Lambert handbook - bounce back from a defeat with a win.

14 more wins to clinch an automatic promotion place with 27 games to do it in <ok>

West Ham are a great example of whats wrong with football. It would be amusing if they failed in their expensive bid for promotion, but sadly, can't see that happening.

I have nothing against west ham, just Sam allardyce. The hammers have the players to play decent attacking football, but instead they just hoof it everytime! So so dull.

Like most neutrals, I have a soft spot for West Ham, especially so as an adopted Londoner. They box above their weight, just as Saints did for so many years, and often outshine their more illustrious London neighbours. I'm happy to be fighting it out with them at this stage of the season, and would love to see us finish 1 & 2 in May.

In the meantime, there's really only one thing to say....

    "We are Southampton,
    We're top of the League..."

What I find puzzling is how a body of intelligent supporters can go from the heights to the depths and back to the heights in the spread of days, and actually question the manager's methods, during that time. I actually found it slightly embarrassing to think that other supporters might read our words. Do you see your team languishing in the lower positions of the league..?

Yes, I know this is the lot of football supporters, and perhaps especially Saints supporters, but we all know this. We all know we overreact, at least I hope we do. I'd like to see someone actually catch them-self overreacting, and admit, for once that they were thinking... No, I won't write that. It's far too early to be reacting the way I am. I'm going to discipline my thoughts.

What are the genuine reasons for overreaction..? Guly not playing well.? Well, guess what, if he doesn't, Nigel doesn't pick him next time. De Ridder not starting..? Nigel prefers him as an impact substitute at present. Cork not in your preferred position and not paired with Schneiderlin, instead of Hammond..? Do you trust Nigel..? I mean, for Pete's sake, Nigel has various performance data gathering methods, including Prozone at his fingertips. Do you not think he might have a slightly better idea than You or Me. Yes, we are entitled to our opinions, but let's keep them real, and to areas where we can be confident they might have some validity, eh..?

The team or a player within the team might not play brilliantly for one game, or for part of a game. But when Nigel decides that he starts the next match, let's not read dismay please. From where I'm sitting, Nigel's pretty much doing as good a job as it's possible to do, at present. Never get too high and never get too low.

no player in this squad deserves to be moaned at. They are all playing their part, and doing whatever Sir Nigel asks of them. Saints are a team. that team includes the players, the backroom staff, coaches, Board, fans and Sir Nigel. there has raeely ever been a time when we have been so together. Contrast this with the recent past to see how far we have come, and also where we are heading

Excellent point. While looking at the stats in Wikipedia for winning home runs, I couldn't help but notice Saints hold an equal record for consecutive draws, with 8 in 2005-06. Now there's an indicator of mediocre for you. Soon after that we dived into crap. Thankfully, we didn't set any records back then.

I have nothing against West Ham and I hope they keep up with us as we need one team pushing us to stop us from becoming complacent.
