He wont go public. I think its a case of if we need money its there. We shouldn't be short of a few Bob after the amount of sponsorship deals we have been thrashing out recently
Let's hope so. We need a finisher, although even if the money's there, it's a big task to get the right player in January.
I reckon we'll go for someone with a decent reputation who is slightly over hill but cheap maybe someone like Amauri, unless we go left field and go for someone like Gignac or Welliton
It's a hard one to call Bozz, something tells me that they won't go for an aging striker to temporarily fill the position unless it's a loan deal, although I can't for the life of me think about who'd be available on loan who'd be good enough? Torres maybe? ;-)
Would be pointless for us to sign one of them. We either need to splash the cash on a top class goalscorer or not bother. There's no point signing anymore "ok" players who can do a job. We need more match winners a la Suarez, not more Downing and Carroll's.
Pipe dream there mate. Also, I'd hate for us to loan him, make him lethal again for him to piss off back to Chelsea and win trophies with them. We deserve more then that. We so need a poacher even someone with an OK Prem two. Someone like... I dunno... Kenwyne Jones or Franco Di Santo... Or Pavluchenko??
A world class striker would have a field day with the number of chances that we create......Just can't see any of them being available in January and if we don't qualify for CL football, they won't come in July. It's a dilemma because we need to do something :s
Was kidding wouldn't have him back! I did think about Pav, not sure that Spurs would allow it though!
In your scenario I doubt we'll buy or loan anyone. January is a silly time to buy a player with a world class reputation. Last years spending was fsg showing us that money from transfers was ours and that they are happy to spend
Would rather get Carroll playing and scoring again. I know there is a player in him waiting to be unleashed.
We were going to buy Suarez regardless of what happened with Torres. Comolli and Dalglish identified the need for more creativity in attack, and they targetted Suarez as the man to remedy that and went in for him. I don't see why this January will be different? And look at some of the signings that have been made in previous Jan transfer windows. Arshavin, Suarez, Evra, Vidic, Agger, Dzeko, Hangeland, Ashley Young and Mascherano. That's only in the last couple of years.
