Well Billy with all the running about and arranging that has to be done you will now feel as if a big weight has been lifted off your shoulders. I lost my mum in 1998 but still think of her every day. I will be donating to the fund but am waiting until my pay is in my bank account next week.
It really is a day at a time Billy. I lost my mam last year to Cancer at the age of 59 and there isnt a day that goes by that I don't think of her. The only difference is that after a while, that sick knotted feeling in your stomach is replaced by a warmness as you start to remember the good times. And you know what.... I have a different view on life now in that I have a Win/win approach in that I can go on and make something of my life with an almost 'no fear of death' attitude and then look forward to seeing her again one day. Chin up mate, day by day that light at the end of the tunnel gets nearer and nearer...
Nice one Syd....I was just looking myself.. One more, and a rather nice one at that...
Billy.....now the clash...hope you don't mind...a forgotten classic.
Just focus on getting through one day at a time Billy and try to stay off the booze for a while if you can, as it heightens whatever emotions we are feeling. I didn't drink for 15 months after my parents died, it would turn me into an emotional wreck, so I just stayed off it. If you feel like crying, then cry. If you feel like shouting at the heavens, then do it. Whatever it takes to get you through the next few months. It must be horrendous for you at the moment, but above the clouds the sun still shines, and it might take a long time, but one day the sun will be shining again for you and the pain you feel will not be so raw or so brutal.
Hope you're well mate, it's good to have a beer or five now and then, I bet your family and friends have been golden. I was just thinking, would you consider doing anything for charity? Probably a bit random but I've heard a few people do that after they've lost someone as it gives them something to focus on and can serve as a tribute to their departed. You would get loads of press backing if you were to do something to raise money for Cancer Research or someone similar. I'll promise you your first fiver if you do something great, bet loads of other not606'ers would follow suit
Anything you like I suppose, or something you've never tried before! You could run, cycle, swim, organize an event, do what you like really, I know you'd be able to do it because Janie would inspire you. Your health, mentally and physically, would benefit greatly too if you done something physical. It could really change your lifestyle for the better. I guess it's about taking something positive from a negative situation.
Once I get my own health sorted AP I will do something like that. ATM, I am under neurologists & a muscle specialist, so once I get sorted out & get my general fitness up I would like to do something like that.
