Banksy, why don't you think we will get more than £2.25m ? Just because he only has 6 months left on his contract, doesn't mean clubs will not pay good money for him - talented young goal-scorers are rare and it will turn into a bidding war between a handful of Prem strugglers and Championship teams that want to ensure promotion.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind £2.5m plus a decent player deal.

    No, come on.

    What do you mean?

We offered 6m and he rejected it.

You won't get a fraction of that so surely you're annoyed with him for costing you a season as ( with a good defence) you'd be a top half worthy side.

I grasped that point fairly easily thankyou.

    But the point that you seem unable to grasp is this;

are you not annoyed that Maynard rejected us as with the 6m he would have brought in you'd have been able to afford a much better squad with the strikers that you kept telling us were better than Nicky?

bear in mind he has only scored 7 goals

People generally seem to be saying good luck to NM and they don't blame him.
What we need to remember is our club paid £2.25m for him and possibly will get nothing back.
This is his decision because he would rather line his pockets.
I for one find it hard to wish someone well when they are ripping off my club for their own gain.
If he agrees to go to a club in January and we get our money back then I'll wish him well then.
If not and he leaves for free - it will leave a nasty taste for me at least.......

Dave Nugent has scored the same amount as Maynard and he was free, Maynard is supposedly worth 6m?

Beckfords scored 2 how much did you pay Everton for him..?

We paid £2.4m for Maynard, not a bad return if we break even...

We paid about the same, but Beckford missed pre season with us and is just starting to look sharp.

Of course but according to this you could end up paying £4m for Beckford which is almost double, that's £2m for each goal,do you think that was money well invested...?

I've seen figures quoted at 5m for him.

But I know that we paid about 2.5m.

Yeah, I wasn't here to wind you up I just wanted an opinion.

I hope you get your 2.25m back but I don't think you will, he'll probably go to someone like Wolves.

Im glad that a large % of BC supporters are actually thanking him for his services to the club, rather than calling him every name under the sun. Top fans <ok>

being out pretty much last season injured and apparently not performed this season, 6 months left, i be shocked if city get as much as £2million. i doubt he go to a prem side. my guess is a championship side who has a chance for promotion - hull, leeds, reading, birmingham, m'boro or dare i say it even cardiff!

Whats the sell on clause that Crewe have? Is it 40% of his sale price?

I think you will struggle to get offers over £2M now unless you get lucky with a bidding war

Bad luck guys, but you will move on. I hear that Pitman is a promising deputy. Do you think that you will keep playing Maynard until he is sold (hope he scores a few more goals - push the price up), or start integrating your other striking options into the team before Maynard is sold while also keeping Maynard injury free?
I hope that you get your moneys worth for Maynard. I can see him moving to a low prem team, what do you recon?

I think we will fork out more money, but Maynard will end up in the prem for a smaller ammount.
