Hasnt Gerrard been playing most games for Cardiff? Hamill would be a decent replacement to Brady should he go back, which I think he should. Becchio would be a good shout in place of Fryatt using our current system (not that I necessarily think Fryatt needs replacing...) Interesting there is no word of any more Man U youngsters... Have we pissed SAF off approaching WJ?
Gerrard was ever present at the start of the season, but he got injured and he's having trouble getting back into the team and has only been on the bench for the last couple of games. We are talking to Man United about loaning a young striker.
Nope. I think Macheda will either stay at United due to their lack of strikers, or he'll go on loan to Wigan.
Gerrard - decent defender (not sure he would get in the team) De Vries - very good keeper proven at this level Hammill - defo proven at this level and just what we need if Brady leaves Becchio - always injured and only scores goals when he wants to apart from Gerrard, would all of these players be on loan ?
Dont fancy Macheda, he doesn't seem to do much when he comes on for Man U so I'm not sure what he would be like with a lesser service with us, albeit in a lower league... Will Keane would be a good shout, does Barmby fancy his lad under his wing (maybe a couple of years too soon for Jack)? Maybe after Jan 8th we can put a cheeky loan bid in for Welbeck?
IMO we need to be building for the future. Using the loan market is all well and good to cover injuries, looking at potential before buying etc, but when you're left with a skeleton squad at the end of the season again its counter productive.
I was getting worried that it might be Biram Diouf Any chance of any deals being done so that they can play against Derby?
I think we'll get a striker on a permanent, a winger on loan, and a goalie on loan until the end of the season. Hopefully that means we will be spending £2-3M on the striker, proven at Championship level with the ability to step up to the Premier League. Wishful thinking, I know.
