The reason why he is delaying his decision to take the job fulltime http://www.thisishullandeastriding....yers-January/story-14278208-detail/story.html
Why Rush. He wants the best package not just wages but transfer funds and wage budget, I for one will be happy if he delays his appointment untill the end of the transfer window.
I'm happy for things to continue as they are even to the end of the season if necessary. As long as the players know where they stand and are happy with the set-up, which they appear to be at the moment, then as Easy Tiger says, why rush?
I'm kinda worried that he hasn't said that non of our players a leaving this transfer window, and has just said that he would be 'gutted' if they did.
And if a Prem club came in for one of the young 'uns, NB would poss caution/advise against going but, ultimately, it's down to the player...
To be honest I'm prepared for at least one of Stewart, Chester and Koren to go. I don't know which one would be the biggest disaster. If a combination goes then we are ****ed IMO.
Barmby is trying as hard as he can to tell the supporters what is going on without breaching any confidentiality with the Allams / AP. To translate that article it should read: Nick tells Allam and Pearson not to sell his best players Nick Barmby has revealed that he has informed Mr Allam and Adam Pearson (in a meeting seven days ago) that his star players must not be sold in January. Nick accepts that a bid from a top eight Premiership club would be hard to repel but otherwise he insists that interest from other clubs should not be considered. The likes of Cameron Stewart, Robert Koren and James Chester are expected to attract significant interest during the transfer window and Barmby has revealed that the owners have not yet given him any assurances that the club intend to retain their best assets. Asked if this would influence his decision to take the manager's role on a permanent basis Nick said "I told Mr Allam and Adam Pearson that I would only take on the post if they demonstrate that they will match my ambitions and not revert back to the 'selling club ethos' that has dogged our progress in the past." We understand that both the owners and the board are now considering whether to accept Barmby's demands or lose a highly promising manager. The latter decision would of course send a negative message to the supporters and players alike that short term cash is currently prioritised more highly by the owners than positive progress for the club.
i find the whole article Very Funny actually. Its got so many fans wound up and panicing. Forget what it says and concentrate more on what it does not say. NB does not need the money. In fact i would suggest that NB would still be well off if he never earned another penny again in his life. That said his motivation is one of ambition and not just himself. The club and fans...his own people in otherwords. IF NB gets us up this season and keeps us up then he can then be called our GREATEST MANAGER EVER. FACT. I doubt for one moment that the Allams would even think of selling this January ? They have not become mega rich buy ruining successful businesses. The fact that so many fans think we may loose players is laughable. Only the deadwood that NB thinks is no longer good enough will be allowed to go and maybe some kids on loans. TC could be one of them. imo. So NB is playing a very good and shrewd game with the media. But Behind closed doors I think all is sorted out. He has told the players whats going on - well thats all that matters for now. Interesting that Doncaster have refused Lestas first undisclosed bid for Sharp. Oh yes from some Twitter reports De Vries and Brady season loans have been confirmed. But then again how reliable is Twitter ? lol time will tell. Happy New Year Tiger Nation. PL in 2012
You said Assem Allam didn't care about City and was only in it for the money, that's rather different and is the reason why you got slagged off.
Barmb's not cut out for this management lark ... he's using his noodle for starters. Its genius , he is basically telling the players he wants them to be his players and he wants to be their manager But hes not just waffling , seems he is saying it with a thump on the table - if u get me.
....amongst a few other reasons. Anyway, it looks like the owners are continuing to demonstrate their unprecedented commitment to their club by acquiring (quite a lot) of new players in the next week or two. Including keeping Robbie Brady. http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=news&news_id=815
