I would snatch 3.5 million for Hobbsy (although i do rate him), and then run to Sunderland and hand it to MON still in its brown envelope and come back with Micky T holding hands and skipping the whole way home......Turner and Chester at the back and i would go down the bookies with half a months salary betting on an automatic spot!!!

Why do you single out Koren as the only player who would lower themselves ?

You do the bloke a mis service there pal.
If someone offered a fair bit more money he would probably go but so would just about every other player.

He is very happy in the area, his family is settled and has shown loyalty thus far.
He didn't try to re negotiate on the terms of his third season when a lot of other players in his position would have. As probably the in form midfielder in the league he would have had a strong hand to go and ask for more money but didn't.

That should tell you something about the man.

ProudTiger, this got boring a long time ago.
Better off ignoring the boring bell ends from Leicester. They're obsessed with our club, obsessed I tell you.

From what i know NP will return for a bid for Hobbs, but i think he has now moved three times in the past few seasons for him so i doubt he would do it again. Like i said if i was offered a massive payrise i would go but you would hope that if we let them go it would be to a club in the PL rather than someone who is in the same league as us. That smacks of desperation on our part to sell as one it would bolster there team, and two it would show we are not serious about getting out of this league.

Because Koren is reaching the end of his career and is far more likely to be tempted by one last big payday.

Younger players like Chester have their future careers to consider. Huge amounts of money NOW does not always equate to a good career move.

This is from a couple of weeks ago and ok, players don't always stick by what they say. But since he said in this article that he'd stay with us even if a premier club were interested, i think we can be confident Leicester have no chance

Exactly, Hobbs isn't just NP's puppy following him around on his adventures. I highly doubt Hobbs would even consider a return to Leicester, and he certainly wouldn't consider being back-up.

Just to clarify, after this post, I never said Koren would leave. I said he was less unlikely to leave than a young player with all his career in front of him.

It's a valid point he'd be more likely to want one last paycheck than a younger player. I just disagree that there's any chance he'd leave unless we got a daft offer and it benefits us massively, he's said he'd stay here and if we get an offer it's up to us.
