Hello Mackems, Gooner here. Was gonna post this on ja606 but there are no Sunderland fans there.

Can any of you tell me what you think of Bendtner at the moment. I'm surprised that he has scored so few goals for you at the moment, I suppose under the management of Bruce nobody was going to really perform well. But he looked awesome for you tonight and has looked decent the few times I've seen you play this season.

Is he a striker you would like to hold onto this Summer. Would you be annoyed if we recalled him in January? How do you rank him alongside the likes of Bent, Gyan and Welbeck? Also well done for your win tonight. I expect you to be in the top 8 by the end of the season. Really liking the looks of Sessegnon and that McClean kid (I reckon you could mug Pool for another £25M+ with him).

Don't want to keep him, wouldn't mind if we send him back in January if we can get someone else in to fill the gap until Frazier Campbell is back. Don't think he'll fulfil his potential here. His off field behaviour's been nothing short of idiotic.

From what I saw of him tonight he was crap for 88 minutes bar something a bit special to set up the goal. Often like that.

I'd like to be proved wrong though!

Not our type of player tbh and wouldn't want to keep him. Problem is that he's not a natural striker which is what we desp' need.

He can be class at times, but often he can be awful. He likes to drift onto the wing and with no imposing figure then left up front we often struggle. He's extremely lazy as well.

If he can consistently produce his second half performance today I'd love him!

Bendtner is a decent player but I hope we don't sign him in the summer and I don't think we will.

If you recalled him in January it would be a big loss as it is hard to pick up good players in this transfer window.

Gyan, Bent and Welbeck are all a class above, if only we had them three now but we still have one, if MoN could get him back for next season and into his thinking we could have one hell of a player upfront again.

Sessegnon is class and could easily fit into your side

he just doesn't offer enough as a goal threat or physically for a side like us, and he doesn't work hard enough. i'd be disappointed to see him leave in january as a) even if we do get a goalscorer in we would remain desperately light up front and b) i'd like to see what another five months playing under o'neill can bring out in him - his touch and skill are excellent, and there is a cracking player in their somewhere i believe.

for all his bravado though, i don't think i have ever seen a striker who lacks so much confidence, it's like he popped up out of a psychology textbook. he talks the talk, but he always needs one touch too many to shoot, will double back to create a better opening until a chance goes begging, and for a centre forward of his stature, he spends an awfully long time on the wing.

I think his confidence will begin to grow. Sunderland fans will get on his back and rightly so as he looks lazy and sometimes you can see he doesn't fancy either a tackle or having a go. Heart like a pea at times. That said he was fantastic for setting up Sess's goal (more of that please) and more work rate and he could be great. I can see why Wenger let him go TBH. He's not the answer to Arsenals goalscoring problems (Van Persie aside of course) Maybe we could swap in January?

I dont mind Bendy and he tries hard at times but like others have said he is nin the wrong team with us, the O'Neil team is built on skill and hard work, Bendy offers half of that and that in dribs and drabs

Welbeck, Bent and Gyan are a class ahead of Bendtner. If we can get a couple of decent strikers in or if Campbell and Wickham can get and stay fit, you can come and get him any time, until then we will have to hang onto him.

He is supposed to be a striker but he often hangs out on the wing and is not in the centre for crosses, he is too right footed, cannot shoot with his left and he does nor possess 'quick feet' I can see why Wenger shuffled him out.
He can and does lead the line and holds the ball up well, when he can be bothered but not consistently enough.

Class player at times however not as often as he should be. As prev mentioned we play Sess (little magician) off Bendy and too often he runs the flanks leaving Sess isolated and at the mercy of the centre halfs. When he 1st came I was well impressed and I think with a more conventional striker he would have looked better and scored more however for the system we are currently playing he needs to more disciplined and a stereotypical target man to bring others into play. Hopefully O'Neill can help him flourish and if he curbs his off field antics I wouldnt be adverse to keeping him, however I feel his wages and ego may cause him to move elsewhere.

He is a frustrating player at times, because he obviously has the ability but doesn't always deliver.
I would want to see how he develops under MON before making any judgement on his merits as a perminant signing...
