With today being Friday the 13th, are there any superstitious posters out there? Are there things/tasks you are avoiding today? Do any of you have any horror stories of things that have happened to you on this day and date in the past?
No logic but I don't like seeing a single magpie and avoid walking under ladders or crossing on stairs. I bame my grandmother. She had a saying about everything!
Friday 13th is fine - but Thursday 12th is always a bad day for me. Noticed many years ago if I arranged something for Thursday 12th it would all go wrong. Yesterday I received a "notice before legal action" letter, it was sent out by mistake, they can't explain how and why and has been withdrawn, but it was Thursday 12th so I'm not even slightly surprised.
Boyf & I exchanged contracts on buying a house last Friday and I was horrified to think that we'd be completing (and therefore moving) on Friday 13th. Luckily, the house wouldn't be vacant until Monday. Lamballana, I'm the same with magpies. Always seem to see single ones on the way to SMS which makes it worse!
You Asked . Went to have a tooth out today ( decay spotted during prep work to have a cap fitted ) . First dentist tried & the tooth snapped , a sound i will NEVER forget . He tried for 30 minutes to get the root out , called for help . In comes the BUTCHER . Cuts my Gum & spends next 30 minutes drilling & digging away . Tooth is out , I am starting to feel the pain / discomfort of 1 hours pulling tugging drilling etc Inc Stitches . To cap it all ( pardon the pun ) there has been a COLLUSION with my Sinuses( Google it ) ......... So TOTALLY ****ED OFF !!!!!!!
Forgot to add the bit where they said " If when you drink , it goes up your nose contact us ASAP " No I am NOT Joking !!!!!!!!
Look on the bright side Jasper, if you keep the glass to your mouth surely you have the everlasting pint.

Not superstitious but I did have my gcse english literature exam today an hour and a half of writing about of mice and men and an inspector calls.
It is strange how people see Friday the 13Th. In the main it has always been lucky for me and my wife. We met on Friday the 13Th We married on Friday the 13Th. I was engaged in my first serious action on Friday the 13Th when in the forces. Was promoted 3 times over the years on Friday the 13Th. So it does not hold so many fears for us on the 13Th. Same as this morning received a cheque from the inland revenue today that I was not expecting and one from the DVLA that I was expecting........
