the lad is a great trier and will always give 110% but some of his touches do let him down, its a shame really. However now is not the time to do it - we could potentially rue the descesion to move him on in August if we find ourselves back in the Championship where he is definatley someone that i would want on board.

Not surprised. MH is trying to build a team with class and skill so I can't see Mackie featuring if we sign the right players. Article talks Mackie up a bit though? Ability to shine on the flank???

Only if we've got better players in already. Even then I'd rather him in the squad than some of the others.

i would have thought that there would be others that we need to get rid of first. Mackie at least wears his heart on his sleeve and tries..whereas there are players such as Hulse that have not done anything to justify a place in 25 man squad. If Mackie stays, then I hope that MH and his team can help him develope.

I doubt he will be going anywhere considering our problems at the moment. At a pinch he can fill in as a midfielder if required.

Summer may be another kettle of fish though, if we do stay up (?) there will be root and branch change at the club and Sparky will want to bring in his own Premier league players and not rely on those who got us promoted from the Championship. I wouldn't get rid of Mackie just yet, if we get the drop I'd like to have him around next season.

I don't think he will go in Jan but could be going this summer ( if we stay up ). Good athlete and tries 100% thats about it though. Has lost a yard of pace since his injury and is simply not good enough.

    I will drive him there.

Simply not good enough. Runs around well but has no end product. He really does look out of place.

I can take Hill as well.

All well and good but until Traore returns or a left-back is signed, Hill is the best we have. Likewise for Mackie, I'd rather he started than Smith, Ephraim etc. so until Taarabt comes back or someone else comes in, it would only weaken the team to ship him out.

agree with comentator last night that we won't see hardly any of the players that was out there last night next season, shame mackie did have potential but only as championship player.

Strange. Before the start of the season most on here agreed that Mackie was one of the few of last season's squad who might be able to cut it in the PL and should at least be given a chance. Now, after only a handful of games he is being written off. The potential is still there but the boy needs more coaching IMO; wasn't Gareth Bale pants a few seasons ago?

I'd keep him even if it was only as an example of the attitude a player should have. Yes he does lack a little bit but so do 99% of the team, the cover he gives Young and the amount of effort he puts in every game alone gives him a place in the squad imo, the rest the coachs can work on.

Handful of games? It's now nearly February, I've seen enough to be able to make the judgement that he's not good enough.

I don't wanna hear 'potential' mentioned either, he's 27 this year for gods sake.

Wouldn't let him go at the moment but don't see that he has a longer term future in the Premiership, just not that class.

Living off the back of his performances from early last season. Yes I know he gives 100% but in terms of technical ability he is our worst player. I would describe him as an out of control speedboat!

I know I am showing my age here, but does anyone remember Wayne Fereday? Very quick and speedy winger who's crossing wasn't exactly the best who chipped in with a few goals? Ad whilst Mackie may be living off perfomance from last season, lets not forget he has played 12 game, after spending nearly a year out.

There should be other players out the door before him.

Suggestions to those players include Tomy Smith (Championship player), Hill & Derry (will follow NW to his next club), Hulse (probably put out iof his misery),Hall, Gabbidon, Cerny, Ephraim (IF It's a good offer I can see him go), Perone, Orr, Dyer, ****tu, Moen, Rowly, Cook
