How much does a president cost? You don't buy a president. A president buys the presidency, if the US is anything to go by. Could be a right little money spinner for the public coffers.
Its still probably a few million...........but he would get a wage for him, not a £40m wage to pay him, his wife, their kids, their brother & sisters, their aunts & uncles, their cousins, their neices & nephews.....................

And give them all free land and various other perks of the 'job'. The Royals are ****ed and should have been the first to go in the recent Government cuts. They serve no useful purpose, the tourist excuse is feeble as ****, getting rid of the Royals would probably bring more tourists to this country, and I don't want some unelected old **** representing the country that I live in like a posh mascot. The main thing is it makes this country look like we live in the Middle ages too, ****ing dukes and princesses Off with her head or free trips to visit the tunnels in Paris, she can choose
When people are suggesting that a president would cost money - are you seriously suggesting that a president would cost more than the current First Lord of the Treasury and the monarch combined?
I dunno - I think France has a Prime Minister and a President - I'll have a quick look on the net. Surely, there is only a need for the present governmental structure - replacing a token head of state does not require extra governmental positions - the Church of England would need a new head, right enough, but that could easily enough be the Archbishop of Canterbury.
