all this "old pals act" is rubbish, if it were true Garcia would be in the squad, Dawson is playing well and he's got the know-how and experience.. Dudgeons turn will come..

Was the fact that Pearson picked him ahead of Dudgeon as well down to the old pals act too?

Dudge will eventually replace Daws, but fot the time being Daws is there on merit. You can't buy the experience Dawson brings to the back-line. Perhaps he has something you don't recognise when you watch a game?

We have a young squad and Daws brings stability, experience and others will learn from him which will eventually help them realise their full potential.

Patience. The future is bright for Dudge. Daws offers something more at the moment. Captain of the back 4 effectively.

Against any winger who has a bit of guile and a turn of foot DAWSON is a liability.Dudgeon will only get experience and confidence if played regularly.

I would think its just guess work for now. It maybe correct but i would expect Nick to keep his starting XI a closely guarded secret. Either way, Fryatt or Brady the other 10 will be correct.

NOWT TO DO WITH THAT. iTS DOWN TO FORM AND HOW DAWSON IS PLAYING. DUDGEON OFF THE BENCH AT THE MOMENT IS NOT A BAD IDEA EITHER.

Nah, not guess work, this is the team. As for Dudge, I've heard his body can't many games consecutively. When he had that run in the first team apparently he was exhausted and had to be replaced by Daws.

i think you ll find its not a guess. I'm with BCC. How long before we start publishing training patterns, in depth Pro-Zone stats and other sensitive information which will help our opponents - all for the sake of someones ego?

I like knowing the team early from an 'itk'. It's also great that Barmby is picking his team and not trying to second guess what team other managers will pick. As for giving info away, in my humble opinion any managers that use not 606 for their inside info on other teams won't be employed for very long, I could imagine Dowie reading these sites and using it for his team strategy, he must have done based on his selections for us.....

Good team only I would stick with the same formation with simpson on instead of Mc Kenna and Fryatt still on the bench

Exactly what I was trying to say <ok>

Especially now with only 5 subs being named, it's guaranteed that at least one, if not two of our four strikers won't even make the bench.
Normally it wouldn't be too much of an issue for me but we have McLean in decent form, Fryatt in bad form but still our top scorer, Simpson supposedly getting a second chance, also looking promising in terms of NB's philosophy and then King who is obviously a new signing.
Who the hell do you play? <yikes>

a positive problem as regularly hitting the onion bag is still an issue for our front men - God knows we create enough chances

Loooks like they'll be playing Griffin and Harte as full backs. Brady and Stewart are going to have a field day!

With regard to putting line ups on here, it dosnt take a master tactician to work out how we will form up. If Korens fit we form up around him to get the best out of him, something Nigel didnt. If he's not then it'd be more towards a 442 I guess. The only thing an opposing manager would probably have to guess is who is up front as they are all different.

I think our wingers should be able to expose Harte.

A shame Griffin is out as it would have been ditto.

I'm with the minority it seems. No sense in posting the team on the net early. Pretty sure Reading will have spent a proportion of the week studying Fryatt. Now he isn't starting they have an opportunity early to formulate a back up plan. You kid yourself that they don't know the team now.
Pretty sure if I was a manager I would have someone trawling message boards. On here we talk about Dawson being slow, one trick corner routines, Bradys temperament. True, they could have gained some of this by watching our last game but it all helps. A lot of football is about mind games, and someone on here has chosen to disclose our team early for whatever reason
