a must win game no excuses if we dont win this one, rochdale wont have hardly any fans at adams park and they cancelled their official coach due to lack of interest.with trotta gone we need beever to get us the goals now.dont know what to expect from the blues today after the embarrassing collapse against uddersfield.a new centre half pairing might help shure up the defence but i am not holding my breath,it seems we need to score 4 or 5 goals a game to have any chance of winning these days.5 all 4-1 win a 4-1 reverse aint got a clue, the one thing i am sure about is if we dont win this one we are on a slide back to division two ,so come on you blues lets have a win and put a smile on the fans faces for a change.

Quite right we don't know what team will turn up and with Trotter goals could be hard to come by again. And when we do start playing well we get a duff ref. Lets hope the team put in 100% and we get a good ref. A good win and confidence will be high!

Those 2 goals in 2 mins really cheered me up. Suffering from a cold and a really painful shoulder. Thank you Blues.

Great performance from Beavon and sounded as though Laing is a good signing and Big Dave is a rock.

Fantastic result, listened in on Player and there was only one team in it really, even if the game was pretty even til we got the second.

This is fantastic. We've now beaten the two teams below us - which proves we are as good as them. We only need to beat a couple above us and then it's game on. We can get out of this yet! Still 19 games to go! And a special well done to JKG for making his league debut too!

    A great day all round.

Credit where credit is due, I have been very critical of Waddock as of late but today's game is exactly the kind of game we needed to win if we are to stand a chance of staying up. To get the team motivated again and without the goals of Trotta well done Mr Waddock!

Excellent result. The players looked up for it and keen to prove a point so credit to them and Waddock for that.

Beavon was different class and I thought Strevens supported him well. But the most pleasing thing was the defence. Rochdale put us under a fair bit of pressure and Bull only needed to make one good save. We even looked organised at corners! A key moment was Basey's brilliant tackle on Grimes in front of goal at 1-0, that played a big part in the win.

However poor Rochdale were, it was a great result and, more importantly, the spirit was there. I may have misread the commentary but I got the impression that our new loan defender gave much needed reassurance at the back. I didn't get the impression that anyone had a bad game although it didn't sound as though Harris had one of his better days.

I agree with most of the positives; hugely important 3 points, brilliant second goal from Stuart Beavon (not to mention how well he did for the first) and I thought Laing looked class. The defence actually looked organised for a change. It will be interesting to see how he copes when we have more defending to do. However the majority of the match looked like it belonged in League Two; simple passes going astray and very little creativity around the penalty areas. I think there is every chance this will be a League Two fixture next season.

Nice to see Laing did well. We rate him up here. I will be lokking in each week to see how he is doing for you lot.

If you can give any more detail on how he is doing that would be great.

Good luck for the rest of the season and I think all sunderland fans willl have a soft spot for you now as we have a common love of MON!

Laing was very assured. Was comfortable on the ball even when under a bit of pressure.

Had one moment when he nearly got caught on the ball but apart from that didn't put a foot wrong.

He also stepped out the defence well going on one run that was ended when one our players got in his way or he would have been clean through.

You have a good prospect on your hands !

It seems a lot of people are getting carried away with the scoreline. The first half was some of the owrst football i have seen at AP, with many in the valley terrace saying we lacked fight, passion and skill. It was purely Beavons dogged determination (which he always shows) that got us the first goal. Rochdale then wilted and we came into the ascendency.
Any decent team would have taken advantage of our poor first half performance and the result is somewhat flattering and could easily have been the reverse if Rochdale had scored first.
It showed how much we miss Donnelly. No creativeness in midfield and plenty of mindless long balls up to Beaver.
Great to win 3-0, but apart from a couple of players, this squad isn't fit for League 1. If only the rest of teh squad showed the same determination and had half the skill of our beloved Beaver!

Strangest thing about Saturday was that Rochdale had 9 corners and didn't score. Given our recent attempts at "defending" corners that is a massive improvement. A major concern for me was the fact that the defence and midfield seemed scared to push out more and put pressure on Rochdale when they had possession in the middle of the park. Other, better teams will punish us when we allow them that much time on the ball.
