Not a prayer, would love to have him but he would cost way more than were willing to pay.I don't know how much he's on a week but it's gonna be way out of our league!
Fulham will price him out of everyone's range. Fayed is more likely to sell us the Michael Jackson statue than Dempsey.....
Sky just throw out random stories in order to get gullible fools to bet on players moving to different teams. No doubt it will be on their site soon.
Would be a great signing and guarantee he'd want less than Alex, Onuoha, Samba and whatever Barton is on (£92k a week was what I heard). I can't see them selling to us but is exactly the sort of player I'd like to see arrive this month.
Iv always rated dempsey even if he is on and off. I would be suprised if we get him but would be a great buy if we pulled it off.
More chance of passing Joey Barton through the eye of a needle than we sign Clint Dempsey in the next 7 days...
I've said before on here that i'd rather Dempsey than the other two jokers. This would be a good signing.
i would be VERY surprised if we sign any Fulham players given that Al Fayed and Jol both seem to hate Mark Hughes! He cited a lack of ambition as his reason for leaving them last season and it didn't go down very well! they've both been slagging him off in the press. That rules out Andy Johnson, Clint Dempsey and Bobby Zamora... although apparently Zamora and Jol don't get on, but I think if we were to sign him we'd have to pay well over the odds for him. I think he's a decent premiership striker and would be quite happy if it was to happen... and appaently he wants to come to us?
Sorry guys, but you are right on both counts. 1) Clint Dempsey is not for sale, or any price would be prohibitive. He was Fulham POTY last year and has just scored 2 hat-tricks in 2 weeks. 2) MAF would be reluctant to let anyone go to QPR currently - Business is business, but Sparky is a real barrier. Unfortunately, MH would not receive a positive welcome at The Cottage - unlike RoyH, Coleman, Adams etc. A pity really - Sparky would do well to lose Kia Joorabchian (that great supporter of English football who also guides Carlos Tevez) as his advisor.
Don't know about this, if Fulham want rid, and we want to buy, business is business, money talks more than MH walking out on them.
Why would we want to get rid of our top goalscorer who is in the form of his life and is happy at the club?
Sparky virtually gave the Fulham chairman two fingers, which is why he's not welcome - so don't assume business-is-business. My good friend Bandit is right about Fulham wanting to keep Clint.
No, I don't expect for a minute Fulham want to be rid of Dempsey mate, would be well daft if you were!. I'm not so sure you won't let Zamora or Johnsen go, but my point was that I reckon business will be more relevant than MH's past with Fulham.
I wouldn't be so sure. I love Fayed for what he's done for the club, but man is he a spiteful man when he's scorned. He never forgave Hodgson for joining Liverpool even though they are a better team and are in the Champions League, well used to be. Fayed is very ambitious, he has announced plans to expand Craven Cottage and has backed Jol in the transfer window. Hughes's comments regarding our ambition were not only taken by Fayed as an insult but probably also as pure lies. Nobody likes to see their clubs name dragged through the mud and that's exactly what Hughes did.
