I think we should make every effort to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer. I also think Poke needs to come permanently as he is much better than Bevan. All we need now IMO is another CB, a midfielder and a pacy striker and that should be enough for promotion push next season (bearing in mind Wayne Brown, Gill and Virgo all return to the side to bolser the side/bench/squad. Thoughts gasheads?
hopefully buckle takes bevan with him. keep poke and downes if we can on permanent deals. bolger can stay until end of the season. virgo be back in the summer. send back dorman as i really havent seen much in him. we got gill and brown back now so dormans wages along with kuffours and campbells wages will hopefully get us a good pacey striker from one of mcghees contacts. we would have a strong squad but mcghee will want his own team in the summer and i can see him being told to shift players of he wants to bring in anyway as we do have a big squad.
I think a lot will depend on what sort/how long some of these players contracts are. Don't forget if we think they ain't good enough for us, then who will come in and take them off our hands? Don't think we will be payin up contracts etc in the summer as we haven't got the dosh. A lot will also depend on how the team fairs between now and the end of the season - if we do well then hopefully people will renew their season tickets, if on the other hand we struggle then a lot of peeps have said they won't be renewing theirs - which means that there will be less dosh to change/strengthen the squad. Now if we were to go on a run , and push for the play-offs (ala 2007 ...!!??!?!?!?!?!?!)
surely chris you have not given up hope on 7th place this season. it is a big ask but gas are going in the right direction now, and matty h may be back in 4/5 weeks
I think we will finish the season strong now Rhine. Doubt we will make play offs this season as left it a tad late to sack Buckle and get the players playing again, but next season?? Who knows. I think Dorman has done alright to be honest CJS, he is certainly no worse than what we already have in the middle. Gill is IMO very over rated by what I have seen of him so far to be honest, but if he gets fit, he could prove me wrong.
I know Chris - just wishfull thinking on my behalf! My glass is (almost) always half full - ever the optomist!!
i havent seen anything in him at all. chris lines only performed 20 mins (if that) each game. dorman dont even perform for 10 mins a game. now brown and gill is back and we have stanley as well, dorman is no longer needed and his wages can bring in a pacey striker that we need. gill maybe overated but his is under contract. dorman isnt.
money needs to be slashed to get in a striker. dormans wages can be freed up. gills cant. gill has been more far better than dorman
Debatable CJ, Doorman has played, Gill has been out for most of the season with injuries here there and everywhere. Gill should still get a chance obviously but Doorman hasn't been that bad IMO. He played well against Cheltenham and Crawley, two top sides in this division so he has got something about him
Gill wont be captain long. Any decent manager will see he will only play about 10 full games a season
you may be right but a full game is from the 1st whistle to the last. he will play lot more than 10 full games. he will have many 60 min games too
