Just read on sportsday live that Wigan are now saying that no contract talks have ever been held with Nicky Maynard.

    Who to believe?

no smoke without fire, I believe that Sexy had said he was sure an agreement would be made, where as Wigan's Jonnie Jackson is in a embarrassing situation that no one wants to go there...so moving the goal posts... W W H H D? (what would Harry Hill do?) 'fight'!

All articles probably have some truth in them - City have agreed a fee with Wigan, but no talks have taken place with MAYNARD because he doesn't want to go to Wigan.
He is sitting out his contract - and I would put him on gardening leave NOW.

I spotted later that the comment on "talks in an advanced stage" came from Sexstone, is that correct? Why would he do that when they clearly were no such thing - oh yes it's Sexstone! lol

I think it may be a last 2 day thing, cant really see NM getting much game time, possibly a couple clubs mid to lower Prem might just pop up on the spur of the moment after not getting other targets...shows one thing though, the clever brains dont want him!!!

teams 9th to 15th might be his/our best chance of getting away before EoTW

Is there a nice park in Wigan where he can go to do some pruning?

I'm not sure there is anything nice in Wigan, let alone a park !

Wigan are just trying to save face. They're a club in crisis, the last thing they need is Championship players turning down a job there all over the papers.

Our line has always been no offical bids made up until this point, I don't think we would have changed that line unless it actually was genuine.

There's likely to be desperation from both sides. £2M is nothing to sniff at, and we want him gone before the window closes. Wigan are favourites for the drop and they don't want Championship players turning their noses up at them.

Let's hope Swansea or Fulham think they need to move fast. I am surprised that City released any pre-sale statement but maybe it was a clever ploy to alert other clubs to pull their finger out. It will be a disaster if he is not sold and I would definitely tell him to stay away from the club as his presence will surely piss off the team and cause more problems. Pitam and Wood must start.

All this could have been avoided if he was man enough to tell us pre-season that he wanted to move on. The boy has no integrity whatsoever.

    Thats putting it mildly Tampa

Still, that arrogance and greed is what makes him a goalscorer.
Trouble is, he probably isn't quite as good a goalscorer as he thinks he is

I think the arrogance and greed are in greater abundance than the goal scoring ability and I have to agree that he shows scant regard for BCFC so why should I/we show any regard for him. He has basically done his job for a season amd a half and just appears to be seeing out his contract with as little effort as possible. He's done some of what he was paid for and shoudg go NOW! enough is enough.
