So far today on SSN we have been linked with Hleb, Roddalega, Moses and Samba Diakite ( God knows who he is ). This with the fact Onuha may complete today and still talk of Samba and Dempsey it could be a busy Thursday for us !!
Rangerw9, you are a senior member on this board, surely you can't be surprised by this. THURSDAY is always the day.
Lets hope so. I'm a bit more optimistic than I had been earlier in the week. Not sure about Samba yet but would love to get him in too.
I'd love to see a quick forward at Qpr I don't think we've had one since Sir Les, the amount of goals he scored with the ball over the top, Roddalega or Moses are pacy.
Queens Park Rangers are set to beat Lyon to the signing of Malian star Samba Diakite from Nancy, whilst Sky Sports can confirm the club are set to make a move for Wigan's Victor Moses. Diakite is a defensive midfielder, who can also play at the back, and will be just the latest new face at Loftus Road this month with Mark Hughes hoping to bring in at last half-a-dozen players. Moses is a player Hughes has followed since his time as Fulham boss, and now he is at QPR he is ready to try and prise him away from their relegation rivals. Wigan have failed to agree fresh terms with Moses and they could find any substantial offer tough to turn down. A bid is yet to be lodged by Rangers, but they are expected to make contact before the weekend. Whilst a deal for Moses is far from done, their move for Diakite looks close to being finalised with QPR ready to beat Lyon to his signing. Diakite The French giants had been in talks with Nancy, but were not happy with Diakite he was participating in the Africa Cup of Nations. Lyon wanted French-born Diakite to miss the tournament in order to be available straight away. But he instead joined up with Mali and made his debut for them in the AFCON clash against Guinea. "Nancy told me that if Lyon took me quickly I could not do the AFCON, but I could not do that," said Diakite. Now QPR have stepped in and agreed a loan deal for the rest of the season with a view to a summer transfer with the overall package worth €4million. With a deal for Manchester City's Nedum Onuoha agreed and the player in London for his medical, Hughes is making progress on bolstering his squad.
Great news...Diakite looks a good little player...and hopefully with the chance of a pacy winger whipping crosses in, it looks positive...still wondering who is going to be on the end of those crosses...?
Rodellega takes free kicks too....... MH has obviously identified how poor we are at set pieces and moved to rectify
What i found funny was (Blackburn) Samba's quote of a 'Dream move to QPR' now i love the Rangers as much as everyone else but 'Dream Move' is setting his sights a bit high?
I'm starting to feel that we are going to get samba. It will be last minute, but it just doesn't make sense for Blackburn to keep him. He wants to leave and for some reason wants to join us. The longer Blackburn keep an unhappy player, the more damage it will do o them and the less money thy will get for him.
I just have a feeling that Samba will join and that it won't be Kean's decision, but a joint one between venkys and barclays
Ok, if we do sign Samba do we drop Young and play Onuoha at RB? We could certainly use the pace down both flanks. Or do we drop Ferdinand and play Onuoha at CB? Decisions decisions...
can't really see Young dropped from starting 11, been great this far. Guess it would be more the case of rotation, Samba/Onuoha/Anton/Gabby as CB, Young/Onuoha RB and Taiwo/Traore LB, depending on the form of the day, and who's playing left midfield...
Does anyone else get the impression Ferdy might be carrying a slight knock , not looked as mobile as previously so maybe a rest for him for a little if samba was to come in. I thin the encouraging thing is we have cover and have good players to come in if necessary (injury /suspensions).
Victor Moses would be a great buy. Would love to see Samba but if we are paying £7m plus I would prefer a midfielder / striker
9! I'm not sure Anton is 100% either. I suspect as well that the Terry case and all the abuse he got has had a negative effect on his game. As I said on here before I'd rest him Saturday, especially if we have a new signing ready to play. But then I'd rest a few others too as for me PL survival is priority, even over Chelsea in the Cup.
