Bluff what is your day job outside of football coaching and dressing up in pink lycra open crotch cowboy trousers?
That's a very good idea - imagine if you unearthed the next Messi! Some good skills on show there too. I take it you're doing a bit of a FIFA street thing? Shortened pitches etc.. makes them use skill to get past their opponent.
http://www.beechacres.org/Federal-Healthy-Marriage-Healthy-Relationship-.aspx I don't facilitate the trainings, but I set up everything and work for the main guy. I keep the stats in check, the fiscal in check, things like that. It is more part-time but I would prefer doing coahcing full-time but the money is not there or rather those jobs are not there right now. It's a good job, gratifying as well.
ya, if you look at the site on youtube you will see the summer sessions which are done on Tennis courts, the streets, and the winter is more b-ball courts or an open armory like the above. I got to where I was and am in playing and coaching through when I was young playing in the street, playing in tight places, and had brazilian coahces who introduced me early to futsal. Just trying to give it back and the kids now rarely play in the street. We do pick up games (pelada) in downtown Cinci in Fountain Square which is pretty cool. Working on some Panna tournaments for the area as well. ps- I am in the video btw
liverpool top? The group pic? Indeed sir. I am prominently in red most of the time. We tell the jerseys and coaches that the attire is any uniform you got, any team, any player, try to encourage the kids to watch footy, get a fav player and a fav team to latch onto.
Some real quality going on there - some of those kids would be the ones (as a kid) i'd have gotten frustrated with and booted into row Z to get the ball off of. I was more in the mould of Carragher than Gerrard, Scholes or Giggs as a youngster
Haha, ya some are really good, what we are working on now with some of them is decision making, they are strting to get the skills but need to know when to use them better. But it is moving along and growing which is good and the biggest thing too is the passion they are starting to show for the game which is good also. Haha, first touch is a tackle then for you?
Usually was, often straight through the back of some fancy dan! My distribution was distinctly Carragher-esque. short sideways passes or 40-50 yard long bombs for the centre forward to run onto. I wanted to be a quick fullback a la Rob Jones, but more resembled Julian Dicks without finesse or pace...
I've been a RM,RB (LM/LB if need left is alright) or CM, although the CM started as I got older but when I was younger, in college, and all that it was whipping down the line or connecting with the forward quick 1&2's.
My lamentable level of fitness left me two general choices - Central Midfield in the Jan Molby role (always within 10 yards of the centre circle!) or goalkeeper. And I'm insane enough for the latter...
El Pibe reincarnate! I love CM now though, pride myself on my passing, can still do the tricks and all from the winger days/ fullback days but really enjoy spraying the ball about the pitch Alonso-like.
Good vid Bluff, I played 5 a side against Americans when I was out in Saudi, it was a massacre but you lot are getting better all the time.
I ran into one on a dribble and bounced badly. I got up and being of a fiery temperament started mouthing off calling him all sorts. He was so calm and just kept saying sorry it got embarrassing for me. Played basketball with you lot there, I was not so good. I had a good start but was a fluke. Someone called me John Stockton after a behind the back pass in the first 30 secs, it was all downhill from there.
Just been looking for some animations and came across this, always makes me laugh. Fair play to the kid and Gerrard takes it well. please log in to view this image
