You know, if the Nazis did win, at least we'd have some cool buildings about.

I'm not a Nazi. But, my god Hitlers idea of architecture is impressive! You know, from Germania he came up with an idea for underground road systems! Way ahead of his time!

One thing that does make me laugh about his Victory Dome. is that it would have been so big, and have so many people in it, all the moisture in the air would have created its very own atmosphere within the dome!!!

That's like the question in an exam paper, expand 2(x+2).

    Someone put

    2 ( x + 2 )
    2 ( x + 2 )
    2 ( x + 2 )
    2 ( x + 2 )

EDIT: <laugh> not606 doesn't like me putting many spaces between characters, so that failed...

It was on a documentary into Germania I watched a couple of years ago. It was apparently designed to head underneath the Volkshalle, and head down the Prachtallee. I suppose, it was just a glorified tunnel. But it still intrigues me to this day. It's a shame there isnt more written about it on the internet

Intriguing, I'd not heard of this - will have to get reading into it. In other parts of the world there were plans for underground passage networks and there was of course subway/metro systems in place around the world but nobody really grasped the importance of the automobile as early as the Nazis did so the idea of underground road networks sounds interesting as hell.

Anyone who makes a secret facility under a mountain is bound to have insane ideas about buildings!

I'd like to read more into too it, but the internet doesnt seem to have alot of information on it. Im hoping I might find a book somewhere on it however. I was disappointed not to find much about it in Albert Speer's books.

Funnily enough, I had a dream where I was in "Welthauptstadt Germania" looking up at the "Volkshalle".

Anyone been to Nanterre to the northwest of Paris? They have some fantastic tower blocks there.

Here's the building that I work in in Leeds - attractive isn't it?

    Bond-Court-External.jpg

I work on the 7th floor however, and the view is amazing, I can see for miles including Elland Road and practically my own house.
