Just thought it was atrocious today. With today's technology in semi artificial pitches I think it should be so much better. Just Look at the Emirates pitch.
Sorry for confusion but i hate artificial pitches but Most modern pitches have a mixture of artificial weave and real grass roots. I'm sure the SOL pitch has this but doesn't seem much cop. I thought it cut up pretty badly today.
Probably the more severe/extremes of weather we get up here and being near the coast. Your prob right about all pitches being semi artificial I just think that you can't have the same playing field week in week out and players should be able to adapt to different playing condtions brings an extra edge to the game.
The weather may or may not have be a factor between the two pitches, two totally different regeons and climates, also two different groundsmen, who water the pitch before kick off.
I thought it was sluggish -adapt to the conditions or otherwise, I didn't think it improved the game ...however, I have too many memories of gladiator battles in the mud, snow, frozen ground and at times some ****ing big puddles not to have an affection for those untamed days. The modern game is different and a good playing surface is expected imho.
