Possible Medial Ligament injury apparently: Wes Brown fell heavily in the second half, had to be substituted, and could be out for a while. The manager revealed: âWes is very, very sore â it might be medial ligament. âHeâll be scanned too, but it will be a blow to us if we lose him for any length of time.â The winners of the replay will host Arsenal in the fifth round after the Gunners came from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa yesterday. OâNeill refused to look too far ahead, however, insisting: âIâm just delighted we are still in the cup.â Taken from the Jarrow and Hebburn Gazette
Well we have a problem, Brown has been very good since he arrived. With Bramble and Kilgallon injured can we get then young lad back from being on loan?
It'll be Turner but we're desperately short at the back now - haven't spurs just put Bassong up for sale???!!!
Markus you beat me to it. I know money might be tight at the minute but id rather if we were to buy we went for someone who would be starting 11 even with a fully fit squad. Bassong is better than any of our current centre backs and wouldn't cost the earth 3mill ?? Why pay 1m for Davies as a stop gap when we could get a rodallega for 4-5m and at 27 would have sell on value + he's much better
Not sure I agree with you about Rodallega parker - Have only seen him a handful of times and don't think he's the long term answer (Neither, by the way, is Davies but I think Wickham will learn a hell of a lot from Davies and it might be just what he needs!)
Is that lad who was at Rangers? If it is I wouldn't toch him with a barge pole. Didn't perform very well up here.
I think rodallega is similar to Gyan, he's just gone stale at wigan. On the subject of Whickham, I dont want to get on his back too much but he was atrocious yesterday, his first touch made Jeff whitley look like pele. bar his goal v villa he's been terrible and i don't even see the potential. i was told he was a skillful battering ram, all ive seen is slow, crap first touch and soft as s**t. How long will he get by on the 'age' excuse? 8-12m?
Not very long obviously - he's not 19 till March (I think) so is still VERY young - I have seen some excellent stuff from him - He is nowehere near match fit yet though and needs to work on that - he's had a couple of injuries since coming back and O'Neill rates him (and has come out and said the same) so I'll leave my judgement with MoN!
Detest the bloke - hate the way he plays football - Him and Davies in OUR side will get penalised for EVERYTHING - neither of them will get away with the stuff they do at their current sides
