I'm guessing he wont be in the squad (hasn't trained with the team & I'd have thought he signed too late), but I'm hoping Sharp will be in the St Mary's crowd tonight. Hopefully he hasn't returned to Yorkshire to sort out family stuff etc just yet, and will be seeing what he can expect when he does grace the turf! Anyway, not sure whether he will be presented to the crowd (bit harsh on Tadanari!) but presuming he is in the stands, what sort of songs could be sung for his listening!? Maybe one of you more creative fans can conjure up something that is not only catchy, but a good chant and different to the usual (boring) billy billy sharp, billy sharp, billy billy sharp like we have for Connolly! Also, for any of you who didn't know, just noticed his real name is William.
I thought it was short for Bilbo? Haha! .. His birthday on Sunday, should he play Saturday will he be due an early birthday present?!
As I understand it the 12 O'clock on the day before rule only applies on games played over a weekend as Saturday is not a working day. Leicester played Nathan Delfouneso against us and he signed pre 12.00 on the same day so Sharp should be able to play tonight.
Wow its my Birthday on Saturday when he should make his debut as well 3 points tonight this could be the best birthday week for a few years!
Someone said that Billy twittered that he couldn't play tonight....only reporting second hand so don't know if true or not.
Be nice if true but I swear someone on another thread stated in a interview he gave to 5live he can't play tonight?
Pretty sure you're wrong there. The 12.00 rule still applies for full transfers, however this differs for loans. For loans I believe the transfer has to complete 3 hours before KO or something stupid. Sharp cannot play tonight.
Sharp is registered and doesn't need international clearance, so I don't see how he couldn't play tonight if we wanted him to. Still, we have other options.
On SSN thee saying any deal done today must be completed by 12 for them to appear tomorrow night so pretty certain it's the same the other way around and Sharp will not be involved tonight. Hope that clears it all up.
Sharp did a radio interview with Talksport last night and they asked if he could play, he replied by saying unfortunately not, the deal wasn't done before the midday deadline so I won't play tomorrow but hopefully can play apart in the Birmingham game..or something along those lines anyway. So unfortunately he won't be making his debut today.
It would be great if they brought Billy and Lee out at some point (unless Lee plays of course) to be introduced to the fans. They don't do that anymore, the last time was Papa Waigo. It's a great chance for the fans to show their appreciation, there aren't always people in the stands when the team's read out before the game and I think you get a better rapport with the players when they come out to wave at the crowd.
