Why doesnt he call him Chung-Sung? In the same way Park Ji-Sung isnt called Ji? And are we going with Tadanari Lee or Lee Chung-Sung? Im so confused
It gets pretty confusing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_name He's also been known as Tadanari Oyama. Maybe he likes mates to call him Chung. Maybe Park Ji-Sung is known by his mates as Ji. I dunno.
His Twitter name is Chuntadanari if you want it to get even more confusing. Someone should "tweet" Sibley to ask how we're meant to do it!
The bloke behind me last night kept calling him Sushi. I don't care what he's called as long as he gets a hat-full of goals!!
Naming conventions generally get extremely confusing when you get past Turkey. Many of the kids in my classes here go by 3 of 4 different names. When I call roll with a new class it always takes a long time to link the register I have to the people sitting infront of me.
Asians are always changing their names.I had a chinese girl in my class who ended up having about 3 different names .
I would imagine that the considerate family oriented (no pun intended) Adkins asked Taddy what he preferred to be called, and Chung it is?
Pretty sure on you tube videos he had just Chung on his shirt which I presume is his preferred nickname like guly for guillherme do prado
Would guess that as Chung is his Korean name it's what he is called within his family. A lot of countries have very few surnames using almost a tribal name, so take another name to distinguish them from the rest. The Spanish use both the mother's and father's surnames.
On the subject of Chung, nice touch that someone was flying a Japenese (and was it a South Korean flag too?) in the Northern, well done that man, I would imagine that chung appreciated that. I have a feeling that he could be a very useful player for us, lets hope so.
