I think that even though I rate Simpson - Tavernier is being looked at as the long term option along with obviously Santon

was it not because Souness had the genius strategy of always playing him before he was fully fit which resulted in him getting reinjured rather quickly, then playing him before he was fully fit etc...

are we not also keeping tabs on Clyne? who's in the last 6 months of his contract, so he'd be free in the summer (isnt that right jock)

Simpson, never in trouble or causing outrage, is a model professional as far as I can ascertain... He was more than solid in the championship and has stepped up his performances this season I think. It's the fan and management perogative to want better in every position til you have the best, and Simmo isn't the best. I genuinely think he's got more in him to be honest, but yeah, agree he's probably going to end up being replaced or made back-up.

Still, I don't think, if he does leave, you'd find a single Toon fan with a bad word to say of him, and it's a privilege having players like that at your club!

We're watching Clyne but I think I'd rather we used Tavs instead, free transfer is tempting but will probs have some good offers.

Well Nathaniel Clyne is good on FM. So that's promising! Then after a few years turns into an absolute beast! :D

If Tavernier was a long-term option he wouldn't be anywhere near League One guys.
