I'm actually beginning to dislike Spurs fans more than Mancs.

Exactly!! In Spurs case, it looks like ten years from now they'll be talking about their glory days "the year we finished 3rd and that time we got to play Real Madrid" <laugh>

ah don't even get my started on spurs fans. My step kids real dads family are all season ticket holding spuds and they do my head in.

I got a text from one of them the other day boasting about being 3rd in the league and asking where we were. I simply replied "In a cup final, what's the trophy for 3rd place?"

When did it become more important to finish 3rd runner up in the league over actually winning a trophy which provides European football?

This really annoys me and I have to teach my kids that winning is important and that coming 4th isn't a good thing as he uses the premier leagues European qualification criteria for anything that has a league table style ranking system.

Coming 4th in your golf tournament isn't a good thing because you'd get CL qualification if you were a premier league team... it means you're mediocre.

    Rant over

Jesus said to Lazarus "come forth" (apparently), so obviously it's important.

    Yep, pretty much.

This thread sounds incredibly bitter, by the way.
Every response is basically on over-reaction to a group of fans enjoying their team doing well.

Seeing as this is probably going no where fast, PNP, what are your thoughts with Rednapp and the case? Think it could have an affect on the team? Also the notion of him becoming Engalnd's next manager? Would you be in a strong enough state to be able to bring in a top class manager or will it be tough to get another one the players, fans, and board all agree with?

Redknapp doesn't seem to have that much input in training, so it shouldn't do too much damage to the team in the short run, unless he gets convicted and jailed.
If that does happen, then it would be a pretty poor time to try and replace him, so I'd expect Levy to install a temporary appointment til the summer.
It'll be very tricky to replace him permanently, but we might not have to. A guilty verdict wouldn't necessarily lead to him being sacked.
It'd also remove any possibility of him being given the England job.

I'm not sure what's actually left of the case now though, as Mandaric has already claimed that he paid tax on the money in the US.
Assuming that he has proof of this, I'm not sure why the case is continuing, to be honest.

If Redknapp does have to be replaced in the long term, then it'll be a hard job to come into.
Any candidate will almost certainly be a controversial one.
Moyes would be a decent shout, but does he play the right kind of football? Perhaps not.
Others would either be risky, expensive and hard to attract or both.

At least they have something to brag about though. Spurs fans go round as if they've actually won something FFS. They're wetting themselves over the fact they may finish above Arsenal this year for the first time in decades. That's an achievement in their eyes, <doh>

And you wonder why we think Spurs fans are twats? And that's just page one of your forum. a few years of being slightly higher in the table and you think that out does decades of success and trophies from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Who said anything about outdoing your history?
I'm sorry if we don't all bow down and scrape to your past success, but you're clearly upset at others not treating you as a superior.
    Utter arrogance.

Articles having a laugh at a team's natural rival are absolutely normal, by the way.
HIAG likes to wind up opposition fans, which he freely admits.
Spurs fans don't write Newsthump, which one the article about Liverpool fans abusing victims of crime is taken from.
Sorry, but you're clearly being ridiculous.

Really? There was a rather amusing period at the start of the window where most of our fans joked that we'd have a front four of Tevez, Ibrahimovich, Kaka and Bale if all the rumours were true. I don't think anyone took it seriously though.

There's too much money in the game to win the CL over night and we'd be far better off taking the CL money in the longterm. The romantic in me would take FA Cup or EL over 4th anyday but the reality is if we miss out on CL qualification again we will struggle to keep our best players or improve our team.

I understand exactly what you are saying, but you could argue that success breeds success. For the last few years. (prior to kenny coming in.) we sacraficed the domestic cups for Europe and the Premier league and ended up with Nothing. Now we are paying full attention to everything, and the confidence in the squad is so much higher...

I dont think it will affect Tottenham for Now as Im sure you will make champios league next year and all will be happy. But silverware is silverware and there is nothing like shinola for keeping people happy...

Then again based on league position for those left in the FA cup, you must be favorites.......you may well get champions league and silverware

When we won the League Cup, we followed it up by winning 2 league games in the next 8 months, I believe so the trophy didn't really kickstart any great success. I must admit I've been surprised and impressed with how you've competed on all fronts, however for you it's easier as you have a far greater income so you will be able to spend in the summer regardless of CL football.
