United fan here but I do rate Hughton. I think the guy has a different style of management to most others, in that he instils a brilliant team bond but also does it on the quiet without ranting and raving about what he hasn't got like that muppet Holloway. He's a man of few words in the public eye and they seem to be the better ones, who go quietly about their business then all of a sudden they're up in your face. I think he's certainly proving he's not a one trick pony, but I do hope he's not the one they all turn to when a club gets dumped from the PL. He deserves time and a decent crack at it himself. It makes me laugh that inept divs like Kean and Andre Villas Boas are plying their trade in the top division whilst managers like Hughton are managing in lower divisions (although I'd argue that Birmingham are a bigger club than Blackburn on every level).
Love him, absolutely love him! What we all seem to forget (to Hughton's credit) was that we were his first ever management job, it was his first ever season managing in the Championship and he won it, the first ever in the Premier League and he had us mid-table and beating Vile 6:0 and the Mackems 5:1! His subs were a little frustrating at times, but all in all, my favourite manager behind Pardew (and Pardew qualifies by default!)
I want to bear his children Hughton is a great manager! Best of luck for the season. Hopefully you can come up and give Villa the same sort of punishment that we did under him! Edit - that reads much worse than it sounds... please log in to view this image
It didnt. It obviously helped him lose his job but the main factor was Ashley thinking he didnt have enough control over some players (Barton & Nolan ect.)
A gentleman, he was a breath of fresh air after dealing with the idiots before him. Brought stability to the club
Legend and a gentleman. Never complains , gets on with the job and does it well. Took us from the Championship when many expected us to go down to winning games at the Emirates and Stamford Bridge and of course destroying the mackems 5-1. Only thing about him that used to frustrate me was his substitutions , even if we were losing he'd wait till the 80th-85th minute to make them.
And the small matter of him being due a significant payrise............................Pardew is the lowest paid manager in the league remember. his results could not have cost him his job unless you were a simpleton. It matters not which games you win or lose. 3 points against Wigan counts the same as 3 points against Man U or Man C. The only relevant thing with regards to results is the points on the board. We had a heathly number for a newly promoted team and his sacking was an absolute joke to any sane man or woman.
Kinda forgot about Pardew and his low contract. Hope he get's a payrise depending on how he finishes the season. He deserves it more than anyone in our team imo.
He's a true gent and a manager I want to achieve great success, even though it's not with us. I think if he is given plenty of time he can turn Birmingham into a very stable Premier League club. I don't know Birmingham's financial sitation but I think Hughton's shown he can work well on a budget, I have great faith that he will keep you up following promotion.
Love Hughton, did an awesome job for us, and even handled himself with dignity and respect when Ashley and Llambias shat all over him. Good manager and a great guy, so glad he's doing well at Birmingham
