    NOT a spoof!

if he carries on like this the case against Terry will be prejudiced and will be thrown out

I cant see how Joey Barton making a comment can prejudice the case. He has nothing to do with the incident and is just giving his opinion.
And to be honest, if you read what he said he is perfectly correct IMO

now Fitz Hall and Jay Bothroyd in on the fun and games..

It's nothing that isn't in the public domain already. Could he be voicing what the team think? Could he be trying to deflect pressure away from Anton? Could the team have chatted about this and seeing as he has million plus followers thought it's a good way to get the message out?

I don't know the answers and I don't know what his thought process is but he appears to have some support from others already. Good thread to have a debate about it but i'm getting really bored of people instantly looking for the worst in JB when we don't know the facts. For all we know within the camp he could be doing a blinding job as captain yet he gets slagged off without the knowledge of the facts. Debate by all means but it would be nice to have a positive attitude behind all the team at these exciting times!

Well after reading JB's comments on the matter the fella has gone up in my estimation 100%. At least he has balls to say publicly how it is AND stick up for a friend and team mate at the same time. Good on him !!
And once again, i cant see any way that his comments can have any bearings on the outcome of the case.

I am not criticising him for telling the truth.
He has said what we all believe.
But the law is an ass and JT's lawyers could use this to their own advantage.
Maybe it will raise bigger issues about freedom of speech on networking sites.
I couldnt give a monkeys as long as we get a win tomorrow.
But there will be fallout from this and it may not be good for QPR.

There are times to keep your own counsel, and this is one of them.

I followed the stream of tweets until they finished a few minutes ago. It ended up with journos from Talksport and the Mirror baiting him to get a rise. Joey then bites and gets into juvenile name calling, etc. So the journos have their "story" in the bag for tomorrow.

This is the problem with twitter. It is instant and played out in front of anyone who wants to watch. It can so easily turn into car-crash.

What I find sad is that Joey is now providing more entertainment and excitement on Twitter than he does on the football pitch.

The problem is journos like Durham deliberately provoke comment with some of their ridiculous views solely to generate 'argument'. He did it with Jamie Carragher when he 'retired' from playing for England and got his come-uppance when Carragher phoned him on air and told what a load of bollox he was talking about. Barton is right with many of his views but wrong in how he delivers them...

    Spot on Eamon.

    imo
If Joey wants to take on the FA and the legal system, that is a worthwhile cause and he will have a lot of support.
But let's get to 40 points first then have some bovver from a position of safety.

How can a case without a jury be prejudiced? Judge taking a bung, not fair you say? Load of ballacks!

Finaly someone speaking up for Anton, all the useless gutter press standing up for the holyer than thou John Terry.
When no one speaks up for Anton then I prefer Joey to take action, even though how much I loathe twitter and twatters.

Best point Joey made and something that drowned in all the bickering, was that Anton now has to live another SIX months with this ****, a completely innocent in this sorry mess. And he's even considered the villain by the majority because all the press is supporting JT. British media a complete disgrace, nothing new(s) there :emoticon-0183-swear

Stan Collymore was racially abused on twitter and reported it - said the guy was in court within a week. <doh>

Guess he couldn't afford JT's lawyers (or is it barristers in England?) ;)

Joey has been over emotional and has been shooting from the hip, maybe with the best of intentions, but he might have screwed up on this one.
Having said that, i agree with his sentiments.

The court date is in July, six months from now. If we add the three months it's NINE, does actually make it worse, thanks <ok>

I cannot believe that he is being allowed to spew his nonsense, still! Doesn't the management care, or is it really in his contract that he is allowed to "use" Twitter? Surely he can't carry on being silly.

Lets be honest, if someone in the FA had a pair of balls then this would have been dealt with at the time. QPR and Anton have suffered because of this and the removal of the captaincy of England from terry is the same as taking toys away from a misbehaving child. Forgive me if Im wrong, but didn't the FA have a RESPECT campaign..........about time they showed some of that to Anton and QPR. terry should have been suspended until the case was head, and this SHOULD have happened within a week / 2 weeks of it happening. From what I have read, there is evidence which would clarify once and for all what actually occurred.
just my personal opinion on the situation
