we already have the brum away game to squeeze back in due to them playing in europe when we were due to play them. not ideal being at the opposite end of the country. i would imagine theres a good chance of the game being on if they not already announced its off. it normally has blower heaters and a cover on it but it only copes down so cold and also there was a threat of snow over night that they had to account for. I'm 20 mins away from fratton and we have no snow just clear sunny skies, fingers crossed it will be on. the team are really fired up at the moment!! PUP
well i only got as far as brough so not too bad, unlucky them on the coaches! thats midweek games at cardiff and portsmouth now to add to the one earlier in southampton, good job i have plenty of holiday days left at work!
28th of Febraury a possible date for the rearrangment? (saying that as it's my birthday on the 28th!)
What a joke , should have been called off yesterday as there was no chance of this going ahead Pompey are a joke and any sympathy I had for them has long gone
Postponed, and was always likely to be - I live in Pompey and my grass is frozen solid, they could have saved those travelling down the bother with an earlier call...!!! having said that, it is bright sunshine and starting to thaw, but probably won't make it in time...
Doncaster V Reading off as well. The good news is that Nolan was sent off for West Ham after 8 minutes against Millwall (currently 0-0) Let's hope it's a good day for the Tigers without us playing.
i know at the end of the day everybody plays 46 games so it doesnt matter, but i hope the way our fixtures are going to pan out, with breaks and then lots of games squashed together doesnt effect us badly
I know it was the ref , I said it should have been called off yesterday because there was no chance of it going ahead no need to leave it until today
I think any team in the top two divisions who has a game cancelled due to a frozen pitch should simply forfeit the game. Undersoil heating has been at all decent grounds for years, it should be a minimum requirement for any Premier League or Championship club(in fact, I think it is being implemented as a minimum requirement in the Premier League, both Pompey and Fulham were given formal warnings for cancelling games due to frozen pitches in 2009). Still, I've just taken up an invite to a mates house warming party tonight instead, so it's not all bad.
