My boy is coming today, although our whole families Rangers he's decided he likes Wolves because he likes werewolves. I can tell he's torn between the two teams as he's been up since 6 debating on who to cheer for if they score. I'm trying to think of a sly way of ensuring he sticks to Rangers, of course a Zamora hat trick would probably do the trick!
It really serves me right cos I once ripped into my mate who's son decided to support Leicester because he liked foxes.
I'm thinking sweets, hot dog and a new top if we win could be an expensive day out.:p

If we win? Just buy everything you can within your budget on the way IN to the stadium and cover him up completely in it, and then stick him in front of a pretty young lady R and see what he does then! :emoticon-0105-wink:

A good three or four goal tonking and the sight of Wolves supporters baying for McCarthy's blood should cure him...

Just tell him he's not allowed to; that usually works for mine.

I had the same issue with my younger brother when he was 7. It's all in their heads. Just overly praise every average thing a QPR player does, and overly criticise every average thing a Wolves player does, they'll soon get the message

My youngest was Man Utd through and through...but as soon as he'd been to Loftus Road and felt the atmosphere and the feeling of belonging to the same "family", he was hooked. He's now 100% Rs and has a season ticket with me and his brother. Just trust the power of the ground to make it happen mate!

Tricky one but a bit of bribery mixed with harsh parenting is surely called for here. I remember being desperate for my little brothers to support Rangers years ago...we went to a game and lost...my brother sat there at the end freezing cold, sobbing away saying, 'we lost and it's not as good as on TV.' He's now a fully fledged fan so don't be too disheartened if today isn't a roaring success...there will be more time for indoctrination.

Had same situation with my boy but worse he was thinking of supporting Chelski because his mates did, just explain there are rules and it is law...dads team or local team that's it no discussion!

You think you've got it tough my 5 year old now claims to like Chelsea. When we had them in the cup he stated he would like a draw as likes both teams just as much. And when we go he can't work out the songs and why everyone else hates Chelsea.

I've stuck him on Ebay so should be gone by next week.

Bad omen this morning; I asked my 3 year old if QPR would win today, and he said no! I wasn't thinking straight, it's his favourite word; I should have asked him if Wolves would win, but there's always a chance he might surprise me one day and say yes.
I know, I'll ask him if QPR will lose, and then I'll give him his teddy back and a lollipop; you can
never start too early with the indoctrination.
