Not being cruel...but if their bank accounts are frozen, can anyone get their money back?

Apparently Bishops Printers were told yesterday that the programs were not required as were the catering firms etc. It appears the club knew it would be off but continued to sell tickets on a NO REFUND BASIS. This so called football club never ceases to amaze me! Deserve all they get i'm IMO.

Even for Portsmouth I find that hard to believe.

P.s. if true, remember it's the fans who are suffering.

I agree, its not the fans who deserve it, its the club itself. Constant underhand, dodgy dealings. I know a few Pompey fans who are good honest honourable people, even they are incredibly embarrassed by whats going on. This football club has come to the end of the road and need to realise it ASAP. Only then can the fans move on and support a reformed club in the lower leagues.

Game was called off at 9.45 by the ref, all tickets are valid for the rearranged match and cash refunds are currently unavailable, atm. Most people buy on the internet these days hater, so they should get their money back, eventually, if they don't want to go to the replay.

The programmes are printed earlier in the week so I don't know what you heard about that. Probably a rumour. They'll just mush them up and turn them into Holiday brochures for the Channel Islands.

I should get to the top of Portsdown hill, as Mick's Monster Burger Bar, has probably got a special going, on giant messy's

You can't just call your own game off! The ref inspected it this morning and made the decision.

I heard yesterday at 2pm that the game wouldnt go ahead another reason being security staff were not able to be paid.

Would that have meant a points deduction? I seem to remember Middlesbrough getting a three point deduction years ago for calling off a game of their own volition. Although I feel that Pompey aren't going to care about a mere three-point deduction!

Please let this saga end..like kicking a dog when it's down. It stopped being fun for most Saints fans ages ago (yes, I know there are exceptions).

Yes, Boro called off a game because of sickness amongst their players without getting permission. Robson (?) looked an idiot. Those 3 points were vital in the end.

IIRC, those three points would have kept Boro up and sent us down.

If Pompey can't pay the policing costs and their situation doesn't change before the next home game, what then? Chances are they won't have the excuse/reason of a frozen pitch to use.

Rumour going around is the printing company that makes pompey's programmes. Stopped making the ones for today yesterday as they had been cancelled.

It seems to me that the best that could of happened from Pompeys point of view was a postponement. Dont have to pay security, policing, catering, floodlights etc etc but have still sold tickets. I am not suggesting they called it off themselves but may have been a bit pursuasive that it would be difficult for the ground staff to have the pitch playable in time placing doubt in the refs mind.

When we had our financial troubles, I remember many messages of support from Pompey fans on these boards, and a few not so nice, but in the main they were great in our darkest hour. Regardless of the rights and wrongs, and IMO the club cannot expect to escape after such mismanagement, I have every sympathy with the fans. Some will not want any sympathy from me or other Saints fans and others will appreciate it. Trying to lump Pompey fans into one category such as "hooligan" or whatever is ridiculous.
St Godders has not yet sent me a request to be his friend, but I would happy to befriend him if he wanted to. After all, we have had the odd exchange of PM from time to time.;) I don't think it difficult to spot the difference between the comments which are intended to amuse or entertain and the other sort. I just wish that more people would use the ignore function. And like Meowth, I really wish I could use it myself!

Am I right in saying that anyone who wanted a refund for today's Pompey game had to do it before 1pm today.

    Otherwise no money back.

    That's what I was told.

A lot of ridiculous rumour flying around. In no way shape or form is an abandoned match a good thing for a football club as its all additional expense without additional income.

This is the same football club that scammed a cancer charity... don't be surprised by anything their ''great club'' do.
