I know there have been other strands on this but I couldn't resist a dramatic headline. And no, Hulse has not suddenly metamorphasised into a half decent player - he is as woeful as ever and has the first touch of a trampoline - but at least he does little damage pootling around in the opponents half. Barton on the other hand is increasingly a liability with so many wayward pases in his own half that at least one per game is bound to result in a goal (as it inevitably did yesterday yet again). Also, I certainly do not agree with other posters who point out his great positioning - running to where you expect the ball to be is great so long as you make the effort to actually get it once it arrives. And work rate - don't make me laugh! - Taarabt, SWP and even Derry covered twice as much ground. Wake up Mr Hughes. Neil Warnock has bequethed you a dud of the highest order.
2 duds, the awful, awful SWP is another dud that were stuck with on massive wages. the best thing hes done all season is fall over and get out of the way for a decent player to put the ball in the net. I also noticed him giving the ball away 30 seconds into the 2nd half cost us a goal and gave them a massive lift, he also got an appalling pass completion ratio as well.
Think there is truth in earlier posts that Barton is struggling to deal with the midfield single-handed, particularly when we are stretched with 10 men. No more red cards ffs
Quite possibly, but Barton is simply nowhere near the player he was since he's tried to re-invent himself!
Some people make their minds up about certain players and refuse to change them. Barton has been far from spectacular but has generally shown the form of an average Premier League player, which is exactly what he is. Anyone expecting him to be some sort of worker of miracles was deluding themselves. Ditto for Wright-Phillips.
Why shouldnt we expect more when they are on 80k a week? Barton has been telling us hes good enough to play for England but Ive yet to see any evidence of it. Him and SWP havent even been average, in fact its a struggle to know if id drop Derry or Barton when Buz or Diakite come in.
How can that be? MH plays 4-4-2, doesn't he, as everybody says? So how can he be the only one? Either way, with a striker gone we were still at 4-4-1, so I saw no reason why we couldn't have held out more by defending.
This is the same Barton that publicly criticized Adel when he said he'd heard big things about Adel but not seen any evidence of it (Watch the highlights from yesterday Joseph)
He's on 80k a week (assuming he is) because there were no transfer fee involved, not because of footballing ability.
Nope, he reportedly earned 60k at Newcastle. All this talk about wages is pure speculation as no one of us know the players contracts.
60k or 80k, it doesnt matter, hes still a top earner and should be one of the best, especially as he keeps on saying hes one of the best in England and should be in the england team and he also criticised adel for not showing his ability. Basically he has little talent and a massive mouth.
No arguing that. Funny after all this spending watching Adel come back and show he's still the best player at the club
Firstly, Barton is a far better player than Derry. Secondly, his wage shouldn't be relevant. If Warnock and the board thought it was a wise move to offer that sort of wage then more fool them but you can't blame Barton for being paid what he is.
However you can for him saying he deserves to pay for England and him saying he hasnt seen anything from Taarabt. Especially as hes only played terrible to mediocre.
We didn't lose anyone in midfield no difference at all ... however Wolves did and they put on another attacker it was that simple IMO there back four was allowed to settle and they built on that .. 10 mens often makes no difference unless the other team can exploit it ... Wolves did. Barton had more time in fact but no difference why? he is very average at best
Flyer, I agree with you one 1OO% how people on the QPR forum can keep picking these two is beyond me.
