Interesting that for those of you who have had your heads up in the clouds for so long, the last two results have finally brought everyone back down to the reality of the situation. We never did have the god -given right to lord it over the PL and were always going to struggle with the occasional gem thrown in. I have been saying for several weeks now that it really does not matter if we go down provided we are sensible about what we do with the PL windfall. If we build good foundations we will do more than survive. In a few years time we will be competing with the teams some of you thought possible barely a few weeks ago. It all depends on how prudent the current crop of deals have been. The August purchases have been nothing short of a financial disaster. Ridiculous wages and contracts that were far too long for my liking.

If we go down, we invest in decent talent spotters who will scour the lower leagues for talented young players who will kill for the opportunity to take us back up. And no. I do not mean Gianni Paladini or the dross from Italy that even the Mafia could not place in any decent team anywhere because of their lack of one essential commodity. Talent. When was the last time we nurtured our own talented youngsters? It has not gone completely out of fashion but if i'm wrong about that, how about reviving the tradition? The 75-76 team (the best we have ever had) comprised of 5 or 6 players who came up through the youth team together with another two or three players from the likes of Walsall, Burnley and Notts County. That's because we invested money in the youth set-up and had decent talent-spotters. These days, money does talk. But just think we can sell them on for millions to Manure, Chelsea or Arsenal when they're 12.

I for one have not given up hope yet. We've played well in the last two games. Fortune gave us a 2 goal cushion at Villa and just as swiftly took it away when they scored on the stroke of half time. We did not surrender meekly as some of you seem to be saying. I know. I was there freezing my nuts off. We would have comfortably seen off Wolves with 11 men on the pitch until Clattenburg intervened. Much the same can be said for Norwich until the lino and ref conspired to send JB off without either having seen anything. It would be nice to start laying down roots for the future from 17th spot in the final league table but if it means going down and then back up next season via the play offs, great. I'll be there cheering them on.

The choice is very simple. Do we do it the sensible way or put the whole lot in now in the gamble that the players we've now bought will make us millionaires now. Blackpool sit in a far prettier position than Pompey, Hull, and so on precisely because their owners knew what was sensible, saved for the future and upgraded their stadium.

Many of the fans on this board have supported the Rs through thick and thin. But for God's sake let's support them now instead of spiralling down in ever more negative posts. It goes up and down. Don't forget. We are QPR. That's what we do.

About TF going if we get relegated, this is what was tweeted:

    TF was asked:
What Fans Would REALLY Like to Hear: That IF QPR Do Go Down - You'll Still be With Us Next Season.

    TF answered:
If it happens I will be here and I'm sure all the others will. Its a project.

So don't see him leaving too soon...

If we were to be relegated which we won't IMO but if it happens then out team wasn't good enough and didn't gel ... Sort of goes hand in hand to what I was saying all bloody year about team spirit being the key thing here ... Without it you are ****ed

Both Norwich and Swansea built on theirs and added to it progressively always keeping the soul intact

What gets my goat is the fact that on this forum with open speech we have had far too many posts yelling our players to bits and demanding upgrades ... Of course on paper our mark three squad looks very good now
We scrambled to this point now having reinvented ourselves by dreadful circumstances that would eat most clubs up ... What should make a QPR fan IMO from now on is relish the pure optimism and believe right to the last

If the dreadful thing happens then it will shown as a test case on how not to run a football club ... The whole issue of success is measured on the pitch in 90 minutes and without a team by pure definition in mind and spirit then the results don't lie

I hope this puts to bed the many issues on here about certain players not being premiership quality ... They all are in fact premiership players and play for QPR ... As a whole is QPR good enough to get into the middle league yes of course

I don't accept at this moment that we can't get 12 points from our next four games .

When was this tweeted? My point made above is that the noises coming out of the boardroom now are very different from the comments made when TF first arrived. Since the turn of the year the Board have chosen to invest more quickly and with much more money and they have gone so far as sacking the manager they had previously backed 100%. Staying up has clearly become much more of a priority and the sums are being done on that basis.

Hate to point to the Hammers, but they seem to be doing a decent job of re-building and trying to bounce back. Staying up was always going to be difficult, especially considering our pre-season and january window madness. Season is definately NOT over and we have an excellent chance of staying up. We currently sit outside of the bottom 3, which is good enough for me and I would certainly rather be part of QPR rather than Blackburn or Wigan. BIG game up next!
