A bit of a slow news day. If we had won on Saturday our board would be buzzing. MARK Hughes is confident QPR will beat the drop now they've addressed their goalscoring problems. Sparky's Fulham side were struggling at the wrong end of the table at the same stage last year as they struggled to cope without the injured Bobby Zamora. However, the Whites went on to finish eighth after the England frontman returned for the second half of the season. And Hughes admits he can see similarities between the two sides as Rangers bid to escape relegation. He told the Chronicle: âThe team here has performed well, but [previously] we've had a problem of putting the ball in the net. âIt's comparable in that respect because I was struggling for a striker at Fulham. Here we've got a situation where we had played reasonably well but didn't have the cutting edge which you need in the Premier League. There are similarities." I'm getting just a little bit fed up with hearing what MH thinks and what he is going to do, just do it, less hot air and more action starting with SWP and Barton dropped.
I think that's an unfair statement as he's DOING a lot more than he's SAYING. I think a lot has been going on behind closed doors and things are working. Compare him to Warnock: Neil couldn't keep his mouth shut, most of the time. But it was always his opinion and not so much about what he's going to be changing in the team or how he's figuring things out. Mark Hughes says less, keeps it concise and it's usually relevant. Don't get me wrong, I still love Neil.
Bit harsh, as manager he will have to do a number of press conferences and interviews each week. I'd rather be hearing what is plans are and what he's doing than be left guessing. Often the responses will only be as good as the interviewers questions!
