Seoul, Beijing and Hong Kong in July ahead of a trip to Nigeria.

Is that too much for one Summer? Will the players be fatigued before they've even started the season?
Champions League qualifying isn't until later, so that's not a problem. Could be an issue if they have to go through Europa League Qualifying however!!

It would be very lucrative financially, and really start to put Arsenal on the map, building a strong fanbase around the world. It's all part of Kroenke's masterplan to expand the marketing of the club and turn it into a global brand. But is it too much?

We already have a Japanese and Korean player. The only thing missing is a Chinese player and we are good to make more money....

It will be a good money maket though...

Seriously, they should be OK for that, as they will rest players and play a lot of youth.

I'm more concerned about which players will be taken to the olympics...

Oxo, Gibbs, Coquelin, Ramsey, Wilshere are all possibilities.

Safe to say a large bulk of our squad will be going to the useless olympics im afraid. Im sure Frimpong would have been nailed on to go too if he wasn't injured!

The last tour was rumoured to make ~15m I think. This one could be even more profitable, and the knock-on effect will be even bigger.

It's not so bad for the British fans either, we get to see more matches in pre-season and get a good look at the next youngsters who might break through.

Euro championships, Olympics and a globe-trotting pre-season tour, I can see a number of players being fatigued or suffer serious injury during the 12/13 season...

  7. I just hope Kroenke's marketing aims will not conflict with the sporting ambitions of our club. Thus far he has not given any indication that he means us to succeed in the sporting arena.

I don't think clubs have to release players for the Olympics

Then why would any club allow their squad players to go? We certainly shouldn't.

Well try telling people like Stewart Pearce that who force our players to play for the youth and senior sides. Then we have the media that will come down on Wenger as some ogre.

The Olympic football tournament is not run by FIFA so FIFA cannot enforce their rules regarding releasing players for tournaments. It's the same way that the FAW or SFA cannot prevent their players playing for a GB team

It's a shame about the Emirates tournament, I enjoy that. But it's understandable. Shame tho, it's lucrative for the club since it's usually broadcast on TV. I'd expect it to be back next year definitely.
