As everything is so quiet, let's pick up on a thought by someone a few days ago and have a poll to see who we think should be captain. As it is me asking, I would appreciate reasons for your choice and not just a tirade of anti-Barton sentiment.

Onuoha, as I think he will be a fixture in the side and has all the attributes to make a leader on the pitch. Shame you didn't include him in the poll!...

I think you have to have the right mentality and I think the players are
Derry - too old and wont be with us next season
HH - will be here but only for 18 months
Faurlin - good choice but obviously not for this season
Ferdinand - will be with us for a while, does he need it after whats gone on?

I would not consider anyone else on that list so it would be HH for this season and Faurlin long term.

I eventually picked Ferdinand but I'm not really convinced about any of them. There is no Gerry Francis or Terry Venables in the list, that's for sure. All I could see were reasons for not voting for any of them. Wrong position, wrong temperament, not a regular starter, not inspirational, maybe this is one reason we are struggling.

Barton of course, even if he is the biggest ar##### in the team but he has proven leadership. Perhaps one of the new guys but we will have to wait for another couple of games.

Joey has his faults (breaking news) but there's no one better in that list so he has my vote.

Stats official for season to date show JB has created most chances and crosses for Rangers this season, 40 and 121 respectively, so there's some pro JB sentiment for you!

and he's our 2nd best goal scorer with 2 goals, and think he leads in assists with 3. Think he's got a bit too much bashing lately...

Taarabt for me. On the results to date, we're down. So we need a motivated and "bigged up" Moroccan that is firing on all four cylinders and with the flair, skill and brilliance to dictate the outcome of the remaining winnable games. Pressure? He coped last season (yeah OK, in the Championship) and it's possibly little coincidence that his loss of form happened around the same time as his armband got passed to the Toxteth Twitter Twunt.

    Be bold, Spunky!

Can't vote as Onuoha or Diakite (when the dust has settled and the team is a team) not in the poll both have the qualities

It matters not a jot. The leaders will be the leaders, armband or not. The "position" is a non-entity really.

you would expect the FK and corner taker to put in the most crosses, all of them have been awful. SWP, 1 corner = 1 goal. Buz - a couple of FKs and 1 goal.

How many Barton set pieces have we scored from?

I guess we can all pick which stats to fit hence why you focused on crosses and not the chances created?! But seriously I agree give me Buz for set plays every time!

I really dont remember seeing him create that much, the most telling stat is that he has a terrible completion ratio on his passes.

Given that the responsibility of being captain involves not much more than calling tails, and our last 2 choices in Adel and Barton have been bizarre, I vote for the level head and mature attitude of Gerbil Sissy

Bullie-boy i think you would love Barton in Flyers if he would be a hockeyplayer? As a footballer and QPR-captain you slash him every chance you get.......I think he is obvious choice for captain and as everybody else he has had his good and bad matches. His passes will get better trust me .........

None of the choices in the list jump out at me. Maybe Onouha for next season?
