All I know is that if me , you or anyone on this board, told the Taxman, oh yeah, I forgot, I have £190K in a monaco bank account that I forgot about, how fast do you think we would be sent down?? Also it would make that nice Jamie cry if his poor old dad was sent, down, he's a lovely old codger etc etc Redknapp is a very very very VERY lucky man!
Not if the money in that bank account had no right to be taxed, and hence had no concern of the HMRC. Could you please take some time to understand the particulars of the case before making wild accusations and generalised statements.
having popped over here to look for spurs v toon threads, I found this one ... as far as I know odds are set by bookies to respond to money placed on a particular choice. so lots of money = odds going down, in order to protect the bookies interests. the bookie can reasonably assume that if many people bet on one outcome there may be some knowledge in the population that he is not aware of and he should cover his back by lowering the potential payout to future betters. in the case of Redknapp, many people probably decided it was worth a punt and tried their luck, resulting in the odds being shortened. Interestingly, when Keegan left the toon in 2008 the first signs of it happening were bookies suspending betting (i.e. when something is certain and taking bets would just mean losing money) - they saw it happening as the tips spread amongst insiders before it the news was publicised and i should imagine some large bets were placed.
Lucky? How? He was found not guilty after a 2 week trial. Chelsea fc and their fans have been defending terry on the grounds of innocent til proven guilty yet for harry its guilty til proven lucky Mug
Red is not the only numpty to have been made to look a fool, now that the Jury has returned a "not guilty" verdict. If he had balls, he'd apologise.
spot on..you see..i dont think we have a problem with banter etc but alot of the fans come on here or even on their own board and try to instigate argument for the simple reason that we are a team on the up..there is nothing else to it..not only that but they cant throw the excuse at us that we are bankrolled by millions of oil money etc.....that we probably have the best English manager and we have one of the most dynamic teams to watch on thier day in the whole of europe...so they use the analogy of my third quote in my signature and come and give it large..therefore eventually ending up getting embarassed.
Usually I couldn't care less about Chelsea, but they haven't been the same since they kicked out Ray Wilkins? What had he done and where is he now........? I hope Mr.Chelski gave him a good severance award....and maybe a free oilwell!
Come to think of it, what're Wenger's odds? If there is another sacking this season, I expect it to be McLeish.
I kind of thing Harry's odds will be plummeting again now. Bad bet in my view as I suspect he won't be leaving just yet.
I really hope I'm wrong about this. But, it all seems an unlikely coincidence to me that the FA "reluctantly" accepts Crapello's resignation just shortly after Harry is cleared of all charges. It'll be interesting to see what happens next!
ha ha ha, lose leave we are splitting hairs here arent we, my point of the post was that harry was 4-1 next manager out, he is now 4-9 on, if it happens or not, my point has some legs, a lot has happened in the last 24 hours, what will the next 24 tell us
Harry has never shown any loyalty to any team before, just ask the fans of Pompey, Southampton and even West Ham. If he gets offered more money elsewhere, that's where he will go
1 - No; we're not splitting hairs, as you seem to be so au fait with bookmakers why not ask them what the difference is. 2 - No; your original post said that he was 4/1 to lose his job - you can't change the basis of it just because you were wrong 3 - Those odds were based upon him being found guilty and being sacked
