    QPR's former Wolves, Charlton and Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd has revealed he was shocked to hear of England manager Fabio's Capello's decision to resign.



    Capello handed Bothroyd an England Cap in an international friendly against France on 13 November 2010. He appeared as a second half substitute in the 2–1 defeat, becoming Cardiff City's first England international player in their 111-year history, and the first Football League player to represent England since David Nugent in 2007.



    Bothroyd told his twitter followers:



    "I'm shocked to see fabio capello step down, it can only be Harry redknapp now ...."



    Twenty minutes later the forward expanded on his earlier tweet:



    "I have to thanks fabio capello for giving me my debut ... Proudest moment in my football career

    from what i have seen of bothroyd this season
    england must have had a massive injury crisis in the lead up to the france game

    QPR owner Tony Fernandes has been left amazed at the fallout that has taken place this week in the wake of an incident that unfolded at his football club nearly three months ago.

    Fabio Capello's shock walkout as England manager on Wednesday came hot on the heels of the Football Association's decision on Friday to go over the Italian's head and strip John Terry of the England captaincy.

    The FA finally decided to act in light of an incident during QPR's 1-0 victory over Chelsea on October 23 at Loftus Road involving Anton Ferdinand.

    Terry is to now stand trial in July when he will deny a charge of racially abusing Ferdinand.

    Speaking to Press Association Sport about the events of the past few days, Fernandes said: "It's the power of the media, the power of how seriously people take a situation, and strong views.

    "If you had told me then something like this would result in the England manager resigning I would naturally have been surprised."

    Most successful win ratio.......but Ramsay won the World Cup, whilst Robson got us to the semis. Venables semis of Euros too! All more successful imo.

    Capello has been fortunate to have had easy groups in the lead up to both the 2010 World Cup and this year's Euros, with the players at his disposal I could've got us qualified for both those tournaments. When it came to the crunch he was clueless...

    Twins, Kiwi, Col: That's my point. Stats say Capello's 67% win record beats Ramsay 61%, Greenwood 60%, Robson 50%, Venables 48% and Eriksson 60% but as you say, our significant others are more fondly regarded and remembered for their relative successes.

    With all the resource, preparation time and media hype involved, choking so badly in South Africa was as unforgetable as it was unforgiveable. Capello's erstwhile mystique crumbled to dust revealing a pretender who not was not only clueless and couldn't control his players, but couldn't really give a ****. For much of his tenure he relied on others to sort things out for him.

    Stats be damned! To most of us Postman Pat will be remembered for his complete failure to deliver.
