Would like to see Guus Hiddink manage England. But then again no more Redknapp for Spurs. Hiddink will choose a Chelsea player as his captain like Lampard or Cahill.

Jesus Mata--Old Gus is knocking on a bit now--and I think he's on the verge of packing it in! Would have been nice to have had full time after Jose went, though!

He's 5 years younger than Sir Alex though.

You mean, he's about to get a congratulatory telegram from Her Majesty! Seriously --what we need now is a potential Fergie! Someone who's going to do the biz for years to come! Gus , God bless him , cant and wont, do that! AVB, off to a debatable start--but who knows? The Special One--will he come back? I have a sneaking suspicion in the longer term, when he's proved his worth at Swansea, Brendan Rodgers could return with JT as his No 2. I'd like to think it would happen, anyway!

I want three examples of top flight british players, who were amongst the best in their league, position and era who have made it as top flight managers because I am buggered if I can think of any<laugh>

JT will fail I'm afraid...too many haters and would hate to be second fiddle.

The best managers aren't the best players...Fergie, Wenger, Jose...

Guardiola is the exception to the rule.

I'll have a stab at Kenny Dalgliesh, Brian Clough and Bobby Robson! But I take the point that, generally speaking, great players dont make great managers and vice versa.
